Any tips on how to create/find your own style ?

That's a fantastic question!
The best advice we can give is to focus less on what other people are doing, and focus more on finding ways to incorporate your own life experiences and ideas and influences into your yoyo play. Don't be afraid to make mistakes...in fact, you should embrace them and see where they lead!
It's a difficult thing, to find your own creative voice. Don't be discouraged, and don't give up!

is it possible for you guys to make a affordable yoyo in the future? #collegestudentproblems

We made one, it's called the Yeti. Although keeping it in production has turned out to be a little harder than we expected. :\

What does it take to get sponsored?

Unfortunately, asking that question gives me the idea that you might be in it for the wrong reasons. If you're yoyo-ing only so that you can get the status and attention that comes along with sponsorship, it probably won't happen anyways. Those who get sponsored are skilled, passionate players that have given something to their community in their own way; sponsoring then follows as a natural bi product because the sponsor wants to support that player and help him/her develop and share what that player has to offer to more people in the world.
Take note: to be a sponsored player cannot and should not be where everyone ends up. People yoyo for different reasons; for a hobby, a de-stresser, a sport, a creative outlet, a way "to have some goofy fun while waiting around in line (Spencer Berry)", etc. etc. It is a toy first and foremost, and if the reason you're playing with it is for any other reason than to have fun playing with your toy, then what's the point? It will just be serious and completely defeat the purpose of what it was made for.
I strongly discourage players to put sponsorship as an end, a goal. It's simply a bi product to players that have something significant and inspiring to offer to their community; and if you're not one of those players, that's ok, in fact, that's great! Because yoyo-ing is and should be exactly what it is to you during the fun times and not based on some hollow, empty, fleeting outside societal status promising you popularity, monies, and ladies (lol). It's an oxymoron anyways - popular yoyo-er, haha.
When I started yoyo-ing I mostly yoyo-ed alone in my house or outside. 7 years later now, I mostly yoyo alone in my house or outside. Nothing's changed, i've just been blessed with the privilege of having a strong support group and being able to share what I do with more people.
Did I answer your question? Sorry for ranting, maybe you got something out of it. Over and out, -Chuck

I, for one, really enjoy the feel of a high wall. Any thoughts on more high walls (or hollow walls like in the Canvas) in the future?

Me too! I love the feel of a high wall, and they reject so well. Not to mention they generally fit in the hand much more comfortably.
I can't give word on that yet, but it's likely :) -Chuck

which yoyo do you like most ? :)

I personally like many different yoyos for their own personalities and temperaments. I like switching it up because the way different yoyos play makes me play differently in turn which is fun! It's refreshing, and it also lets me find different movements and tricks all together. -Chuck

my bonfire started to randomly vibe, which I don't normally mind but it's like c-grade bad and I really liked it. tried tuning, switching parts, all of it, any ideas?

Contact the store you bought it from, they should be able to help.

Where does Jensen Kimmitt get his inspiration for yoyo tricks

Jensen is one of the most brilliant and multi-talented people we know. And as with most creative people of his caliber, he gets his inspiration from everywhere. People like him just see the world differently. We're so lucky to have him as a team member and a friend!

When are you guys going to release more yetis?

We're working on it. The Yeti is one of the best playing plastic yoyos we've ever thrown, but making them has proven to be a lot more difficult than we imagined. But we're working on it, we promise, and we'll update as soon as we know when we will have more available!

What is the strangest yoyo trick out there?

Ask our new team member, Riccardo Fraolini. We're almost positive that if there is a "strangest trick", he made it up!

what does it take to join CLYW team?

It's about a feeling, it's about seeing someone that just "fits". It's about dedication and ability and love and contributing something wonderful to the world around you. For everyone on our team, it was simply about someone who just "fits".
Except for Abe. We just made him eat 100 hot dogs in one sitting to get on the team. It was horrifying.

Did you create CLYW with the intentions of making a business to make money, or was it just about creating cool yoyos?

It has always been about making something amazing. We start with our goal of making high quality return tops, giving our amazing fans something of the best possible quality, and contributing something positive to the industry. From there, we work backwards to make sure that the business end of it works.
We support the industry and our team as much as we can, and that's obviously expensive. But CLYW is about quality and innovation and pride and love and joy first....and then we make sure the numbers work and will keep us going.

Will you guys make anymore undersized throws?

We aren't planning on it. We gave it a try with the Campfire, but it just doesn't really fit our style.

How many Wooly marmot 2s did you guys make?

Not enough, it seems. Looks like we'll need to make more! :)

What is the hardest part when it comes to creating a new return top?

Creating a new return top that plays well, is original, can be machined and reproduced consistently, and fits the feel and aesthetic of our brand is really incredibly difficult. Luckily, we've gotten pretty good at it. ;)

Recently I read in a forum post this guy had terrible experience with threading apart his high end return tops (including CLYW) and that he's always had to 'tune' them after. Should I be paranoid of taking my Wooly Marmot II apart? I'm not one to strip threads ever btw.

We take our return tops apart all the time, and don't have any problems.

Never got one of your yoyos. Looking forward to doing so, though! So, how about an Arctic Circle as a first CLYW yoyo, huh?

It's a great choice!
