What determines how much a colorway costs? And how do you come up with new colors?

What we get charged by the anodizer determines what a colorway costs. We come up with new colors by Chris and I either getting on the phone together or using Facetime or iMessage and just spitballing ideas until something sounds good. -Steve

I'm gonna get a clyw soon. It's my first clyw yoyo and I'm thinking Gnarwhal 2? Is that a good clyw top to start with?

Sure. Although as I tell everyone, the Chief is the *most* CLYW return top we make, so if you start there it's easier to then decide what direction you want to move in with the rest of our line. -Steve

Would carbon fiber be a good material for a yoyo? Any plans to make a titanium yoyo?

Probably not. It's expensive and difficult to work with for a spinning object, and only one company has ever made a carbon fiber return top and it was quite literally the worst return top every released.

We'll make a titanium return top eventually. Just not in a hurry since every other company on the planet released one this year, lol. -Steve

Best CLYW other than chief?

No such thing as "best". I always recommend the Chief because if you don't have one, it's the return top that I feel best represents the general feel of CLYW products, and it's a great starting point to help people figure out what else from our line they will enjoy. -Steve

It looks as though companies are revisiting older designs and updating them a bit for more modern play, One Drop with the Rebirth and General Yo with the KLR2 both come to mind. Any chance you would consider releasing a new Peak design with a focus on newer styles of play?
