the Yeti is so good but like that maintenance makes it a pain in the ass to own one :(

Yep. That's why we're blowing out the rest of the parts we have for cheap so that everyone who does want one can get one, and then we're going to get to work on redesigning it. -Steve

Will the orca be added in the CLYWcomparison tool?

Yes! I haven't been worrying much about updating the site because we're working on a new site and I'm crazy slammed with other stuff but eventually, yes. -Steve

PLEASE don't have worlds in cleveland. The only thing Cleveland has to offer over Orlando is Steve Brown.

Dude, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Nearly everyone I've ever talked to about Cleveland only knows two things about it, and one of them is a basketball player. Live here for 15 years and we'll talk but in the meantime, just acknowledge that you have no idea if Cleveland would be a good venue or not, allow me the opportunity to lay out actual facts and numbers for the NYYL, and don't campaign against something you don't know anything about. -Steve

Steve, what are your kids favorite yoyos? If this is to personal you don't have to answer. I'm just a curious guy who wants to know peoples opinions.

My son likes kendamas more than return tops. My daughter hasn't really gotten started yet. -Steve

Are you guys okay with me using your logo for a construction project at school? I'm making a clock!

Sure! Send us pics! -Steve

whats a good option from CLYW that lets me take my time when I play with it. Something that I can go at my own. Something similar to the bvm2

Sasquatch. Spins forever. -Steve

Always get the best ideas for questions here when drunk, haha. Steve, you wrote that you never learn tricks of others. So, would you recommend this to other players too? I always thought learning as many tricks as possible and splitting them into elements would be key to creating your own stuff?

I never recommend that anyone do things the way I do...just because I'm weird about tracks doesn't mean everyone else should be. -Steve

Is there a reason CLYW stopped blasting their yoyos? Will you ever consider blasting again? I love the finish from earlier models. Without the blasting (maybe they get tumbled) the return tops look dirtier and of lower quality.

The only ones that aren't blasted are the solids, and we're looking in to changing that. -Steve

How do you get sponsored by CLYW?

Be amazing. Be useful. Contribute to the community. Create content, win contests. Look at all the people on our team and what they do and what they contribute and then try to top that. -Steve

Enlighten us Steve, you've been around for quite some time. In your professional opinion, where in the US do you think a good venue for worlds would be?

You need a city with a large international airport so that players can get cheap flights from anywhere in the world. You need a venue that can hold approximately 1500 - 1600 people, with a professional quality sound, stage, and lighting set up. You need lots of nearby food options, and you need after party venues nearby (walking distance if possible) that can allow for both drinking and non-drinking players.
You need a local infrastructure of players and help that can support the event, because you need a core team of 4 - 5 and at least a dozen volunteers to make the event go smoothly, in addition to your judging staff.
You need a location where the organizing team has good relationships with local press, local businesses, and local service providers and can leverage those contacts to get everything needed for the event at the best possible prices because it's entirely funded by return top companies who have little to no money.
There are a lot of cities that would work, but having the local team to pull it off is the huge limiting factor. I'm putting together a proposal for Cleveland because it works, and I can pull it off. Other members of the NYYL are working on proposals for other cities, and once we have everything together we'll all meet and decide where it's going to be. -Steve
