can u tell us some of the splashes that will be on the orca? if not will there be both old and new splashes?

We don't choose colors until they get to the anodizer. They aren't at the anodizer yet. -Steve

Issac and gray should both share a sig. Itd be cool because there always together. Even when they yoyo they share.

Once I get my money saved up should I get the 7075 Scout or the regular Scout? What's the difference?

7075 just feels a little different. Sounds different on the string and can take a hit with less damage (VERY important if you are a 5A player, like Petr). -Steve

Why discontinue the Gnarwhal 2? Or the Puffin 2? They played fantastic! Especially the Gnarwhal 2. So short lived and not much attention brought to it. Very unique and totally CLYW authentic vibe. Palli's new sig isn't coming anytime soon so why just drop it?

The Gnarwhal 2 was one of our slowest selling models. Hardly anyone cared about it until we said we were retiring it. (Same thing happened with the AC2, by the way.)
The Puffin 2 was a signature return top for a player who now wants something different. So, it's our job to work with Palli and create the return top that he wants now. -Steve

Is the Bonfire going to be discontinued? The stuff you guys are coming up with now is surpassing it in the performance department. Everything from the 2013 and 2014 Era is dead except the Bonfire.

No plans to discontinue it. We still think it plays really nicely...not everything needs to be the leading edge of performance. Sometimes you just want something that plays well and feels good. :) -Steve

Sorry for this being unrelated to yoyo but have you ever considered doing a team thing to get everyone healthier? E.g. encouraging people on the team to quit smoking or eat healthy if they choose to participate? It might be good to encourage but not force people on clyw to stay healthy.

That sort of feels like we're crossing a line, there. We want our team to be happy and healthy, but not sure that we are the best ones to tell them what that means. Mostly we do our best to support our team in all of their pursuits...if a team member came to us and said "Hey, I really want to drop 20 lbs. Can you help me with XXXX?" then we probably would. But we're a return top company, not personal trainers or life coaches. -Steve

What plans do you guys have for Issac and Gray? What about Tessa?

We plan to work with them to help them achieve their own personal goals, and plan to work with them to create content that gets CLYW fans all stoked. -Steve

Orca or Scout? What do each excel at?

Orca is great at holding spin no matter what you are doing. Scout is great at being an all-around player...great as an everyday carry or a contest throw. Orca is much more of a contest return top. -Steve

What's the new Sasquach going to be like? Why did you discontinue the already amazing one?

Still designing it, so hard to say. We love the Sasquatch and plan on keeping it in the line for a while, but feel like it could do more than just be a workhorse. So, we're giving it a little facelift. -Steve

If CLYW had a lightsaber it would have a Yellow crystal which is one of the rarest in the universe. You don't come across many genuine and fan connected creative companies like you guys! Also the hilt would have the pickaxe engraved and the ignition sound would be a roaring Yeti! Also stashes syrup

has there ever been a case of a sponsored player cheating on their company? like taking a sponsorship from another company while theyre on another team?

None that I've ever heard of. The whole point of a sponsorship is that you are publicly endorsing a company and that company is publicly endorsing you...so not sure what a company would gain from giving free product to someone who isn't publicly using and endorsing it. -Steve

Since 2010? Not really. More boutique stuff has popped up but at this point pretty much everyone uses Kitty String. We ship all our return tops with Kitty String, our entire team uses Kitty String...hell, we just signed a deal with Kitty String for them to sponsor our team. Just use Kitty String. -Steve

So with these new logo styles does it mean the end of clyw comics?

I think the end of CLYW comics happened a while ago, when Jason Week got crazy busy with bigger projects. We love them, for sure, but yeah...just not sure it fits anymore. -Steve

any releases in march besides the blizzard and big dipper?

Blizzard, Big Dipper restocks, and a huge Fools Gold drop. Might be able to squeal out a run of Orca riiiight at the end of the month, but more likely that it will drop in early April. -Steve

Steve, next time you are in edmonton could you autograph my sasquatch? it was my first CLYW return top that I bought on a fools gold drop randomly cause I thought you might have said it was your favorite, it's still currently my favorite return top of all time and Im grateful for the recommendation

I'd be happy to! Sasquatch is still my favorite. Glad you're enjoying it! We have an entire run of Sasquatch that we had to FG for minor vibe...those will be available later this month. They still play really nice, and are a total steal...keep an eye out for them! -Steve

I just came back to the scene after a few months. You guys switched your machining shops from OD to someplace in Canada. I dont understand:(...I know it's not really your job to explain stuff to me but why? Like really why?

They didn't want to work with us anymore, and Chris and I had been talking a lot about trying to bring some production back to Canada anyway, so it all worked out for the best. The quality from our shop in Canada is fantastic...this latest batch of Borealis was made in Canada and our assembly team said it was one of the best runs they've assembled, so we're feeling super good about it. The guys at One Drop are very vocal about companies supporting their local economy, so I'm sure they're happy that we are supporting local Canadian businesses with our manufacturing now. -Steve
