Any chance for a CLYW Ti anytime soon?

Not anytime soon. It's one of those things we would totally love to do at some point, but we have a LOT of other things in line ahead of it. -Steve

Hi i asked about the prices on CLYW return tops. Now in specific The gnarwhal is 20 dollars more expensive than the sasquatch or the Avalanche. Is there a specific reason behind that? Just wondering

According to YoYoExpert, there is only a $5 difference between the Gnarwhal 2 and the Sasquatch in the same colorway. Which is probably just due to machining costs. -Steve

Hey steve, people say the avalanche is your flagship yoyo do you agree with this? i would say the chief and the avalanche are probably your flagships!

I've never heard anyone say the Avalanche is our flagship, ha ha. Chris and I both agree that the Chief is the perfect embodiment of a CLYW return top. The Chief is IT. -Steve

I know you've probably already talked about this a lot, but when do you think your first Chinese produced model will be released?

No idea. We're still talking about options and figuring out what we want to do there. -Steve

Yuuki's and Riccardo's tutorials, wich are coming first?

Good question! I have no idea. We have two different people filming/editing them. -Steve

Any Fg Orcas in the upcoming drop ?

Maybe. Haven't checked. I'm going to get this FG business sorted out today or tomorrow and let everyone know what's coming and when. -Steve

So, I am 14 and have very little money because most of it I used buying the required summer reading books. I know that the Yeti will be releasing soon and I was wondering. Should I get the yeti when it releases for wait for the "Yeti 2.0"? What do you suggest I do?

Alfredo Pratico
The batch of Yetis that are coming out are neat, but a flawed design. They have a shelf life. If you want something that's gonna last, wait for the 2.0. -Steve

Are you going to release another run of solid Orcas at some point in time? I tried one today for the first time and wow, congrats, a very good job 😁

Yep. We have a bunch of splash Orcas coming really soon, but yeah...definitely more solids next time. -Steve

Will you make another return top with a more organic, if not round (as the WM2 for a perfect example) return top? Or do you dislike it because it is not the competition friendliest shape? Love my Marmot's shape! Soo comfy.

Yep...got some stuff in the works. -Steve

Is a titanium return top superior to an 6065/7065 aluminum one? What would be the differences/benefits?

I really hate that word, "superior". There are a lot of implications there that I feel like almost never actually apply to the topic at hand.
Titanium is stronger for sure, but does that make it better? Only if you are doing something that requires strength of material to be the #1 requirement. Do your tricks require the body of the return top to be strong more than anything else? You can do some cool stuff with weight distribution with titanium, but how much of an edge does that give you, design-wise? If you know your way around designing aluminum, not much.
Titanium is a really fun and awesome material. I'm personally hella rough on all my return tops and would love a full titanium set of all my CLYW favorites but would they be superior? Nah. They'd spark though, which is pretty sweet. ;) -Steve

What do you personally think of John Ando as a player? How would you describe his style? Just asking because with his unique style he bought me into yoyoing and he I pretty much admire him for his style and skill of play. Wanted to hear the opinion of a return top master of the old school!

He's one of my all-time favorites. I guess I would describe his style as "open". A lot of players really build their tricks in such a way that they only feed into themselves, and it's almost like engineering a car to crumple when it's hit...their tricks collapse in on themselves. John's tricks expand and fill all of the space around his body and he moves into them, away from them, around them...he plays with the return top and with all the spaces between the segments. It's beautiful. -Steve

Do you change your tricks when performing for non throwers?

Absolutely. Non-throwers want to see something that is neat, unique, and impressive but that *they can follow*. You have to pace yourself differently, and remember that they have zero understanding of trick construction like we do. I personally would rather play for non-players most of the time...I find it's more fun and I end up being more creative. When I hang out with serious players I usually slip into "I have no time to practice like this anymore, everyone here is way better than I am, I'm embarrassing myself". -Steve

Seems like people forgot what a business does... Maybe they think you live in some fairy land where you don't have bills to pay... /end rant... Is there a chance you could do some Bonfire with the new anodizer? His stuff is sick!

Thanks for the support. :)
We did a run of Bonfire with the new anodizer! Should be out in a month or two? -Steve

Someone offered me to trade his skyblue summit for my new gold sasquatch i got about a month ago. Do you think its worth the trade? Thanks!

I'd stick with the Sasquatch...I use those more often. But hey man, whatever makes you happy! -Steve

How does the Summit play in relation to the Avalanche? And what is the Summit more like, the Avalanche or the Cascade?

Summit is a bit bigger and slower. It plays a little heavier than the Avalanche, which I personally really like for 5A. The Avalanche is a little bit smaller, and zippier on the string. Both are super nice, although they definitely feel really different from each other.
I've only thrown a Cascade once and wasn't in to it, so I don't feel like I can give you an accurate comparison there, sorry. -Steve
