How is the scout doing

He's good. He had a bit of a head cold last week, but he's feeling much better. Thanks for asking! -Steve

Do you use your MacBook Air for serious, performance work at the lodge, Steve? Can it hold up?

I use it for everything. Video editing, audio editing, graphic design, all my invoicing and correspondence...everything. I've been a Mac fan since OSX was first launched (OS9 was pretty awful, I used it at work but preferred my PC laptop at home), and generally like the Apple platform. I know there are a lot of PC user who love to hate it, and a lot of Mac users who cannot boot up their machines without feeling the need to make fun of PCs, but the Mac OS, build, and aesthetics are really appealing to me. -Steve

Are the 7 summits gonna get progressively more expensive leading up to the Everest release?

Ha ha, that would be kind of awesome. But no, the price will hold at $165. -Steve

how did the orca get its name?

English-speaking scientists most often use the term "killer whale", although the term "orca" is increasingly used. Killer whale advocates point out it has a long heritage. Indeed, the genus name Orcinus means "of the kingdom of the dead", or "belonging to Orcus". Ancient Romans originally applied orca (plural orcae) to these animals, possibly borrowing it from the Greek ὄρυξ, which referred (among other things) to a whale species. Since the 1960s, orca has steadily grown in popularity; both names are now used. The term orca is preferred by some to avoid the negative connotations of "killer", and because, being part of the family Delphinidae, the species is more closely related to other dolphins than to whales.

If the Scout doesn't do all of these things for me, then do I have every right to demand my money back?

Nope. Nice try, though. -Steve

So, from a collectors view it would be wise to choose the AC2 for now, and the Orca later? Is something about this first Orca run special? I don't want to miss out on the classics such as the AC2, because I've already missed so many classics (Peak, Cliff..), but want to support the new stuff too!

Depends what you collect, I guess, but If you want an Arctic Circle 2 in your collection this is definitely the time to get one. -Steve

I think the Orca and the Puffin 2 could be considered relatively similar. Definitely could be an argument for the Orca almost feeling like a more stable, faster Bonfire X Puffin 2.

Nah....I'm not seeing it. They look and feel really different. -Steve

What does zach not like in the ac2 to make him want to move in a new direction?

It's not a matter of him "not liking it", just that he's looking for something else in a return top now. -Steve

Steve, what do you think about the new Macbook?

Looks beautiful! I just got a new MacBook Air last year though, so I'm set for a while. -Steve

Is the 7 summits floater than the orca?

Hard to compare those two directly...they feel really, really different. Both are really floaty and fast, though. -Steve

Steve, are you that diabolical parent who will take away all of your kid's axles and not their yoyos if you want them to study for a test?

No, I'm that diabolical parent that says "Hey, you should study for this test so that you can do well on it" and my kids go "Yeah, that makes sense" and then they study for that test.
