Why do some yoyos have vibe, even if they don't have any visual damage? Is it that the metal is denser in some areas, or the machining makes an elipse and not a circle?

Machine error, human error, material problem....any number of things.
Something to note: machining a return top does not remove the human element...it's as much of an art as it is a science. Which is why some machine shops get it (One Drop) and other's don't (the ones we used in Canada).

Do you know of any good threaded inserts that work in plastic yoyos, so you don't have to tap it? I've heard that Side Effects only work in metal, and other inserts can only be bought in bulk.

We're a return top company, not McMaster-Carr. C'mon, man.

Hey clyw . Are you guys creating more colourways for Bonfire? When would it be?

Haven't decided...we'll figure that out when we do another production run.

I'm sure loads of people would dig a plastic bonfire. Is it something you guys may think/have though about?

We're thinking and talking a lot about plastic lately. First step is to deal with the Yeti...there are some changes we'd like to make, and we still have a lot to learn about making plastic return tops.
Then....who knows?

I want to start incorporating my arms and neck and other body parts into my tricks. Like wrapping the string around my arms and such. What tricks should I learn that'll teach me how to do that?

Best thing you can do it just start looking for the lines that you want to build, and start experimenting.

What makes a yoyo, a good yoyo? Is it the bearing? The yoyo itself?

It's the convergence of everything...shape, weight, weight distribution, bearing, moment of inertia, diameter, width, bearing seat, string, and the player.

Can you take a side picture of the Sasquatch so we can get a good view of what the shape looks like?

As soon as mine arrives I'll get pics and specs up on the site...include a profile view.

No page for Sasquatch yet? o: Also, tell me aboot your day c:

Soon!
It's a little early, but today is going well so far. Some bears and I arm-wrestling over a breakfast of salmon we pawed out of the river. Weather is nice...can't complain!

Plastic Bonfire, and call it the Chupacabra? Undersized Cliff, and call it the Ledge? Undersized Chief, call it Red Head?

You're on a naming rampage!

Did Duncan just buy their own WYYC, and called it "international"? And so far, since only Hank Freeman has been invited for 3a (and it's invitation only) will he win by default?

The invited players aren't the only ones competing in those divisions...they're just the top players that Duncan is flying in for the event.
The contest is not "invitation only", there will be additional "wildcard slots" available for players who show up and rock their way through prelims. (Check the bottom of this page for details: http://www.internationalyoyochampionship.com/en/rules)

Just curious, what's the difference between speckle-splash, thick-splash, and long, stringy splashes? Is it in the chemicals, or is it how you put the annodizer on?

It's how the anodizing compound is applied.

What usually happens more; FG due to vibe, or FG due to anno flaw?

Mostly vibe. When we have ano problems, it's mostly just one particular color getting weird. For example, the last run of Arctic Circle 2 were fantastic, but for some reason the solid green ones just went a little wonky while all the rest of the colors turned out fine.

are you going to buy yoyos behind CZE money on WYYC?

I think you're asking if you can buy CLYW return tops with Czech money at the World YoYo Contest?
The answer is yes: any vendors there selling CLYW will accept Czech currency. Probably Euros, too.
