We promote our players with signature edition return tops, videos, photography, sending them to contests, and working directly with them to identify their personal goals and help them achieve them. Basically, we find out what they want out of their career (both return top related and otherwise) and do whatever is within our power to help them out. Sometimes it's paying them for video work, sometimes it's letters of recommendation for outside jobs or internships. We consider our team to be family, and we do what we can to help them out with whatever is important to them. -Steve
If I wanted a yoyo similar to the orca but faster, what should I get?
I dunno, the Orca is pretty damn fast if you get cranking on it. The extra little bit of weight gives it more stability for the really crazy stuff...I think maybe you just need to push it a little harder to get the speed you want. -Steve
Can I apply a small drop of yyf thin lube on my Dif E yo konkave? It's the regular version not the ceramic. It sounds a little gritty and louder than usual.
Worth a try. -Steve
Clyw bi-metals will be produce in china. Does it mean you guys will mass produce it? I am hoping so that i can get my hands on one of your bi-metal
Nope. First production run of the Blizzard is only 300 pieces. -Steve
Any glow in the dark BD?
Once we sell through this production run we'll start working on new colors. Glow in the Dark is a personal favorite of mine though, so we'll see. ;) -Steve
Does the companys promite the players ?
Well, the good companies do. -Steve
Which one should I go with the Igloo or Blizzard ?
I don't have an Igloo yet, since all we have are a few prototypes so far. But I can say that I'm really enjoying the Blizzard, and everyone who has tried one seem to really like it. -Steve
We're scheduling a production run with the machine shop soon. It will be a month or so before they're ready. -Steve
Got my big dipper today, no more designed in Canada on the side, why the change to designed by CLYW? my favorite part on the yeti was the "made in Canada". Of course I already know Chris designed it in my hometown of Edmonton but I'm a little curious if there was any specific reason for the change?
Well, we had to put the name of the company somewhere. ;) -Steve
Hi, Steve
Have you personally tried the Big Dipper for 5a? How does it play? Is it durable enough to be a daily beater throw?
Also, please make glow in the dark Big dippers in the future! They're gonna look awesome!
Yep...pretty much immediately upon getting a prototype I threw a counterweight on it. It really nice, and plenty durable enough to be a regular beater. I've always been a fan of slightly larger return tops, so the extra little bit of diameter on the Big Dipper really appeals me, more noticeably for 5A than anything else. -Steve
The bear vs man 2 was a signature of who ?
Boyd Seth. One of our earliest team members, bit no longer on the team. -Steve
Will there be maiderade blizzards at the prerelease at the YoYoExpert throwdown?
Thanks
Why thr man vs bear yoyo has retired ? I heard it was very good ..
It was very good. It's still one of my favorites! But it was a signature model for a player who stopped participating, and it just didn't make sense to keep making it. You'll be excited to know that the new Igloo, the bi-metal signature model for Michael Kurti, used the BvsM2 as the starting point for the design. -Steve
hey Chris, when you look back on old videos, say the old marmot box stamping video, for example, and you see how far clyw has come and grown, what kinds of emotions does that instill? nostalgia? pride? reverence?
Awww I love that marmot video! When I watch it, it feels like yesterday to me. Not much has changed since then, except of course me getting more help from people now, like Steve and Alec. But I still feel like the same me in that vid. I miss that house. I do feel super proud of everything we've accomplished when I watch it too, but in all honesty we were probably selling just as many throws back then as we are now. When I watch videos from 2009 when Zach and Chuck were so tiny that makes me feel nostalgic. Big time. So proud of what we've created and everyone in this community has helped shape CLYW into what it is today. Couldn't be more thankful! -Chris
