When you make a signature yoyo for somebody, do you actually have them design it or do you design it for them and just have them sign the boxes or whatever?

All of the signature return tops we've released have been collaborations with the individual player. They tell us what they want...sometimes they give us actual drawings, sometimes they just list off play characteristics they want, and then Chris begins the design process. Some players are super hands-on about it (designing the Borealis with Zach took 5x longer than any other return top we've released, but it was worth it) some players have an idea what they want but need to be guided and have their idea refined (Harrison), other players go back and forth with Chris and shape the whole thing together (Palli). Totally depends on the player. -Steve

Your return tops can be used as normal tops also. Pretty cool looking when you do.

Yep! Moar fun for your dollars! -Steve

No, seriously, how many b-grades does an average run of 200 contain?

No, seriously, anywhere between 1 and all of them.
We have had runs of return tops that only had one or two b-grades, and we have an ENTIRE production run of Sasquatch here that we had to b-grade because the bearing seats weren't machined right. There is no "average", because there are too many things that can happen to make a return top b-grade...could be machining, could be anodizing, could be engraving, could be the material, etc. -Steve

How can I get over dinging my CLYW yoyos ?

Just remember that every good tool is designed to be used, and use always leaves marks. Consider each ding, scratch, and scrape to be one more line on the roadmap to your greatness as a return top player. -Steve

Do you go out looking for people to sponsor when you want to sponsor someone or do you sit back and watch the social media for someone who stands out to you?

Yes. -Steve

You guys should take the models of your yoyos and send them to Shapeways or another 3D printing service to have them printed. It would be super cool.

None of the designs are optimized for 3D printing...the final pieces would probably just crumble in your hands. -Steve

If Dirtbag is still in Horseshoe Bay tell him to stop by my house and bring some yoyos!

Yeah, good luck with that. ;) -Steve

If you don't mind my asking, what ever happened to Boyd? He was so integral to the start of CLYW, where'd he go?

Gotta be honest...it's really no one's business. It's between us and Boyd. Sorry. -Steve
