I'm starting Uni (University) today and I hope to keep yoyoing when I'm there. Do you guys have any advice for braving Uni?

Are the 10th anniversary Peaks really limited? Also the price?

Haven't worked out any of those details yet. Our latest run made in North America had about 50% b-grades. So I'm honestly not sure about the future of this project right now. -Chris

I can't decide between the Banana Hammock or the Creep. I play 1A and into more technical tricks. Looking for something that is chill but can go fast when needed, and is easy on the hands when it hits your palms.

Both are great, would say the Creep might be more chill. -Chris

Chris, what's your favorite yoyo right now?

I haven't even tried it yet as we are waiting for the prototype to get made, but I know it will be as soon as I try its Anthony's new sig. -Chris

please do a banana fade colorway on one of your return tops!

It will probably stay on Pool Party. Trying to kinda keep stuff separate, look-wise. -Steve

Three parter here. Firstly, if I want a yoyo that resists tilt and can change direction quickly, what do you recommend? Secondly, what else is in development besides the new Tessa sig? Thirdly, what ever happened to SCR? How do South Central players get into US Nats these days?

1. The best stuff for resisting tilt is the bi-metal stuff, because it's the most stable. For monometals I would recommend the Orca and Compass.
2. Sig for Anthony, revised Borealis, 10th Anniversary Peak, Pool Party & Heaven Sent are both launching soon, couple of sig models that haven't been announced yet, couple of new Basecamp models, and I'm going to launch a sub-brand called "F*** STEVE" that is an all-black return top with an engraving of me crying, packaged in an origami box that unfolds to reveal a massive, annotated list of everything that people hate about me. 95% of the proceeds go to putting my kids through college. The remaining 5% will pay for someone to come to my house, kick my @$$, and post video of it on the CLYW Snapchat.
3. There is a massive conversation happening right now in the NYYL Slack about how we are going to restructure the league for 2017. Expect a big announcement soon.

I was watching a video showing me how to do superman yoyo trick , and then a random blazing team ad came on showing me how to do the "basic throw".Quite funny

Hey, that's pretty decent ad targeting. -Steve

Because of the demand on the Moonshine, have you ever thought of a second run?

We've thought about it, and decided not to do it.
Instead we're working on a new responsive, slimline butterfly return top that is, we feel, an improvement. It's very different, but if you liked the Moonshine you're gonna loooooove this. -Steve

ok so i need some help with yoyoing. ive been doing it for a little over 3 years and i just cant seem to make any new tricks. in the past 5ish months ive made one trick that actually works and is decent, any tips on getting past this mental block?

Stop watching other yoyo players, stop watching yoyo videos, stop going to contests, switch styles, and force yourself to run through the tricks you know and throw intentional mistakes in to them to see what happens. -Steve

So as a follow up to the question about quickly changing directions, does an overall lighter throw make for one that changes direction faster? And I would have thought that the Compass would be better at it, given that it was designed by a 5A player and 5A involves a lot of quick direction changes.

Yes, an overall lighter return top will allow for easier and faster changes in direction. The Compass was designed to be stable first, and if you watch Petr's 5A play his direction changes aren't super fast so that's not what the Compass was designed for.
Realistically, you can make any good return top do what you want it to do, because you have to remember that after you decide on a reputable company, all of this is 100% preference. So while some return tops will do certain things a *little bit easier*, it's still 90% up to YOU and how much work you are putting in. -Steve

Will you ever collaborate with one drop again? The summit and the seven summits are 2 of my favorites.

Probably not. -Steve

Has the Peak redesign started? Anything you can share yet?

Nothing we can share yet, but Chris is working on it. -Steve

Snagged a Snow Cone Manatee. You sneaky sneaky guys. I asked about this not too long ago (14d) and was met with a sad panda's "not in this batch" But it WAS! Very exciting find.. :)

What pads other than snow tires will work in CLYW's?

I don't think there are any other pads that are close enough to fit. IR Pads makes a Snow Tire replacement in their material, but that's all I know of. -Steve

What do you mean by the Borealis need someone with finesse? Thanks😃

I mean the Borealis plays like Zach's tricks look. It does best with a light hand. Like, if you throw an Orca it will muscle through your mistakes and keep on trucking. The Borealis is not as forgiving, but it's faster and lighter. Watch Zach's Worlds Freestyle from 2015, and Anthony's 5A freestyle from this year's US Nats to see what I mean. -Steve

Hows the Borealis compare to the jack nice or expedition

Totally different throws, all three. Hard to quantify...all three are pretty fast and floaty, but the weight distro on the Jackknife makes it feel invisible in your hands. The Expedition feels like a solid contest throw and really feels like a perfect mid-point between CLYW and YoYoFactory. The Borealis feels like Zach's tricks look. Hard to explain beyond that, but play with it and you'll get it immediately. -Steve
