Draw over the Sharpie marks with a dry erase marker, and then wipe it off. I know that works on plastic, might work on aluminum. -Steve

There are two things that cause a return top to be sorted as Fool's Gold: anodizing flaws or vibe. Both are pretty easy to detect. -Steve
