What is the difference between the Chief and the Pickaxe in terms of play?

They are like night and day! The Chief plays more like a traditional competition return top in that you use it through a combination of you pushing the return top and the return top pushing back, and the space between that give/take is where you build your tricks. With the Pickaxe, you're a conductor pushing air and string and the return top almost effortlessly goes where the slightest amount of effort puts it. It's a very different play experience, and the visual similarities between the two are pretty much the only similarities. -Steve

When are we getting info on the Sasquatch?

It's still in production, should have more info in about a week or so...in the meantime, we're loving the protos and so is everyone who has tried them. -Steve

What are clyws plans for 2018?

Working on more new return tops...less signature stuff and more just very Caibou-ey stuff. Probably going to lay low on the contest scene a bit this year and regroup for a big 2019 since Worlds is coming back to North America. We're restructuring the business end of things a bit to dig us out of some holes we fell into last year. We're still a very, very small company but we've grown just enough that we need to get organized better and that's kind of my primary focus for 2018. -Steve

You can see plenty of Pekka if you keep up with his skate videos. Just not much throwing return tops. -Steve

so, what's the reason for having player promote one specific color of a yoyo in a video, and then releasing a run of the yoyo that does not include the color?

Usually we shoot videos well in advance of a production run dropping, and they are using the prototype. We also just run protos in solid colors, which don't sell super great for us in general. But maybe we'll start including those colors in the first production run. Hopefully they will actually sell well. We'll see? -Steve

Time frame on dropping the 2nd run of the Compass?

New run of Compass will be the first drop of the new year. -Steve

What happened to Kurti and Isaac? Why were they dropped from the team?

Neither was "dropped". Isaac wanted to take a break from yoyoing and didn't want the pressure of a sponsorship during that time. Kurti just felt like it was time to move on, and wanted his career to be more than just a sponsored player. I had a great talk with him and genuinely love the dude and wish him the best. We gifted him the CAD file for the Igloo and hopefully he'll continue it. -S

What models can we expect from the Fools Gold drop? And how soon can we expect them to drop?

Chief and Orca from the last runs in our Canadian shop. Should drop in a week or two. -Steve
