What would you do if Obama bought a throw?

I would be beyond stoked. And I would immediately call my buddy Harper to tell him. Harper was the CTO of Obama's re-election campaign, and is also a return top player. So if Obama is buying CLYW, I'm pretty sure we'd have Harper to thank for that. -Steve

Everyone who ordered from the Fool's Gold sale got their shipping notifications with tracking numbers via email about 3 hours ago, and everything is going out today. So check your email. -Steve

I feel like I should buy my first clyw soon but I have no idea witch one I should get. If you had to pick one witch one would be the best overall throw that shows off this company?

I personally tell everyone to get a Chief first. That is still Chris' absolute favorite, and every time I pick one up it becomes my favorite all over again, too. It's really the return top that turned CLYW to the path it's on now, and in a lot of ways you could say it really saved the company. -Steve

When we go through the testing phase of assembly for our return tops, anything with vibe or anodizing flaws is set aside as a reject. Most companies called these "b-grades", we like to call ours Fool's Gold. Every once in a while we gather them all up and sell them at a deep discount, usually about 50% off regular retail price. We just had a sale on Wednesday so everyone is still all in a tizzy about it. -Steve

I'm hoping to start a yoyo club in my area for the younger ones. Mainly middle school, elementary, and hopefully some older. Any tips?

Be patient, and get some loaners/beaters to let people use. And lots of string. Change the strings after every meeting. Little kids hands are disgusting. Those strings will look like you pulled them out of a badger's butt by the end of a club meeting. Bring hand sanitizer. Not kidding...little kids are basically the monkey from Outbreak. -Steve

When we get the same questions over and over I take it as a sign that we have new fans. And if we have new fans, then we're doing something right.

I understand that your new models outplay your old models. However, is there something to be said for nostalgic purposes? I'm not saying make another peak, that'd kill the integrity of the old ones, but why not make another run of the bassalope or something early like that?

Nostalgia is great, but if you really go back and play with those old models...they don't hold up. There's nothing there BUT nostalgia. I personally love the Bassalope but it's not a very good return top. -Steve

What's the best way, from a design standpoint, to make a budget metal? Not talking about packaging, anno, any of that stuff. Like, is it better to cut more material from the profile, or the cup? Is width cheaper than diameter? Etc
