Does supporting companies (shirts, yoyos, etc.) Help someone become sponsored? Not particularly you're company, but others as well.
It can help, but more than just wearing or using their gear it's important that by supporting them you are doing something that adds to that company. If you wear their shirts and use their return tops and doing something that is cool and compelling and interesting and gets you noticed, that is more likely to be a stepping stone into a larger conversation about sponsorship.
The #1 thing I can recommend if you are looking to be sponsored is to simply make yourself a valuable commodity, and once you have established yourself as a desirable player, then YOU should approach the company or companies who's products you enjoy and support and begin a dialogue with them. Discuss what YOU can offer them, and what you expect from them in return. Most players just aim for "getting sponsored" and then expect the company to tell them what that means...you should have a plan from the start, and then work towards a sponsorship that does what YOU want it to do. -Steve
