A lot of manufacturers are putting out releases at the $50-$70 range, and I like them because they are affordable and are well stocked up by retailers. Are you guys planning make anything similar other than Yetis?
We're working on it. And we are working on a better version of the Yeti, too. -Steve
So how do you and Chris choose who is going to join the team and who will not. I love both of your new players but their are players who rep clyw with more wins and better accolades. I'm not judging your choices I am just curios as to what you look for in players. Thanks
We don't have a system, or a formula. We just kinda feel it out. We look for people who are hustling, and building themselves up in the community. We look for people who love this as much as we do, who fit in well with the rest of our team, and who have the skill to really go far. Some players are champions out of the gate, and others just show a ton of promise. The CLYW team is a family, and families are made up of a lot of different moving parts. -Steve
are you still at the dallas airport??? I live in plano which is like an hour away but if u are ever in the area again i would love to meet you:)
Still here. Trying to get some work done before my flight home. I do miss all the traveling I used to do with Duncan...it allowed me to meet an awful lot of players around the country and the world. But hey, Worlds 2016 is in the US again! You should come! I'll be there, wherever it is. -Steve
how would you compare the puffin 2 and the wm2? I have a puffin 2 and I want to get a wm2 before they are all gone. I can always get an orca later. How is the wm2 different in how it plays to the puffin 2?
The WM2 is fun, but the Puffin is a contest killer. Spins longer and handles horizontal waaaay better. The WM2 is more of a casual throw...something that can handle plenty of tricks but just doesn't have the spin time and stability that you need for serious contest freestyles. -Steve
whats your favorite way to get rid of string tension?
String tension is necessary for the string to work...the twist is what holds the two main strands of the string together! It think what you mean to say is "how do I control my string tension and keep my string at a neutral tension", which makes more sense. The best thing you can do is keep an eye on it while you're playing, and learn multiple string adjustment techniques. Here are a few different discussions I was able to find:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1nnA_5A10I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18-tm1YsPX0 http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php?;topic=48987.0Hope that helps! -Steve
wow chris on tour team !proud of that guy
We love that guy! -Steve
Why u have so big recommended price for shops? I know they earn a lot money but I don't have so much money for CLYW yoyo. I have job but this is still so much.. In my country u earn 12k in job and yoyo cost 4k.. But I can still buy food, clothes etc..
We're working on some lower-cost options for our fans, but it's really expensive to run a small return top company and make a high quality product. The return top industry is really small, and I promise you...NO ONE is making a lot of money off it. -Steve
Damn Steve you're quite the poet. Love your answers haha!
;)
Bougt an orca today, when should I be expecting it?
I'm currently eating BBQ in the Dallas airport. I'll be home and processing orders tomorrow, and you'll get a shipping notification with tracking as soon as your order ships. -Steve
What are differences between the Advance Scout and the Orca? And the Scout and the Orca?
The Scout and the Orca actually play quite similar and just feel really different. Both are fast and stable and designed for highly technical players. Both will make you more attractive and both encourage healthy hair growth. -Steve
when does clyw ship orders at end or start of week?
I try to ship them as often as possible, but since all of the Orcas are at my house in Ohio and I'm currently in Canada, nothing is shipping right now. I'm leaving tomorrow and will be home really late, so orders will start going out again either Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks for being patient while I'm out of town. :) -Steve
Will there be splash orca's before April 20th?
No idea. Depends on the anodizer. -Steve
CLYW, how many YETIS are you making of each color?
No idea how many will pass testing. We started with parts for about 300 return tops total, split between four colorways. -Steve
could you describe how the orca plays?
Fast, floatier than the weight would suggest, and really stable. -Steve
