The new colorways on the Avalanches look amazing! But they remind me of the anodizing of some other companies. Don't ever drop your old anodizer though - it will be a huge loss to CLYW.

Well to be fair, plenty of other companies are using our old anodizer, and all of their stuff looks just exactly like ours anyway, so it's not like this is a new thing.
We never had any intentions of dropping our old anodizer. But when they got really backed up and almost single-handedly sank CLYW we had to look for more options.
When your entire supply chain hinges on a single supplier, if anything happens to that supplier you are screwed, screwed, screwed. So we made a decision to find additional suppliers both to keep the business end of things moving and just because *new* can be really good sometimes. We like moving forward as a company. We like trying new stuff. And we felt like it was time to mix things up a bit. So more solids, neat engravings, and new colors from new anodizers.
We have a lot of fans, and thankfully we have more each day. Can't be a bad thing to give them more ways to enjoy CLYW, can it? -Steve

Steve, I value your opinion more than most people I personally know. It seems like so many people want to be discovered for their yo-yoing. For me the line between confidence and narcissism is a bit juxtaposed, so I just avoid social interaction. Lol. What can I do to improve my antisocial demeanor?

You'd be surprised how anti-social I actually am. I work from home, I spend 80% of my free time with my wife and kids and I barely leave the house most days. I don't play return tops in public unless I'm actually performing because I get really weird and anxious about it and end up being interrupted every 30 seconds by someone who wants to talk about it so then I'm not even really playing...I'm just having an impromptu Q&A session.
For me, I just make a decision to be social sometimes. I keep up my usual routine most of the time, but sometimes I have to force myself to get out and talk to strangers and socialize and just generally participate in the world. It's hard and uncomfortable but if you don't do it, you end up being one of those weird guys on the internet who doesn't understand how to have a conversation. I talk to a lot of those guys every single day (thanks, return top community LOL) and it's not who I want to be. So, I force myself out of it from time to time so that I can keep perspective.
Figure out your comfort zone, and then just force yourself out of it from time to time. It's a good thing to do, even if it makes your skin crawl a little. -Steve

How many of each colorway for the new bonfire were produced?

There were only 100 pieces of solids total, and they were split evenly between colors. -Steve

Need moar infos on the last AC2 run! the Zip Zap Rap will be one of the two colorways of it, right? And will it drop on clyw.ca directly or on yoyoexpert too?

We'll release all the details when they're ready! -Steve

Just wanted to leave some appreciation here. It's so cool that you guys had the guts to try out all new colorways. They turned out beautiful! You couldn't do better with the direction CLYW is moving, I feel. Keep on rocking guys! ;)

Thanks! We really appreciate it. And there is plenty more new stuff coming. :) -Steve

I know they say it is hard to keep anodyzing consistent, but the latest releases have looked MUCH different. As in, change back to whatever you were doing before. Please?

Well, they look very different because they are completely different colorways from a completely different anodizer. They are supposed to look different, because we wanted some new colorways in a new style.
We will still be making the "classic" CLYW colorways with that same anodizer, so if you don't like the new stuff you will still have plenty of options. -Steve

Is the bassalope considered high wall or mid wall?

It's a low wall, actually. There's almost zero wall beyond the response pad. -Steve

I hate to ask such a broad and subjective question, but I just wanted to know how you (or anyone on the team) think the Wooly Marmot 2 and Arctic Circle 2 compare in terms of play. They are both beautiful CLYW creations, but I'm having trouble figuring out which is better for me.

The Wooly Marmot 2 is smaller and faster but with less spin time with the AC2, which is larger and floatier. If you like undersized return tops, get the Marmot. If you prefer full-sized, get the AC2. -Steve

I can't decide whether to get an avalanche, orca, advanced scout, scout, or puffin 2? My dad said I can get one.

Get an Orca. It's everyone's new favorite. -Steve

I really like the bassalope but find it too small. I also really like the spin time on the Sasquatch but find it too heavy. What would be a good yoyo for me?

Maybe a Gnarwhal 2. -Steve

What one material would you make return tops out of if you could get it easily and cheaply?

I'd make everything out of titanium if it was cheaper. -Steve
