How do you guys feel about people reselling/buying used as opposed to buying CLYW throws new? Is it something that bothers you guys or are you happy to see more people get to try your throws?
We're just happy to see that there is a sustained interest in our stuff. Fans are fans, wherever they buy our products from, and we're grateful for them! -Steve
i know it is looked down upon for a sponsored player to compete with any other brand's throws. What happens if a CLYW player competes with another company's mango?
I would never happen. Our mangoes bring all the boys/girls to the yard. Damn right, they're better than yours. -Steve
Got my Avalanche! Waited for tooooo long, but I am very impressed with it, thanks man for patiently answering these aggravating questions! It sure help me with the decision a lot!
By the way, I've found a small scuff mark on my avalanche, probably came out from the box. You can't really find it and it's more like a slim dent line. The colour is still on it though. Plays perfectly. Is it normal and could it possibly be due to the shipping? By the way I love the yoyo
Yikes! Sorry about that...not sure how that might have happened! Might just be a minor scuff...sometimes you can rub those right off on your jeans. If it's not going away, you can contact the retailer you bought it from for a refund. Or if you love the way it plays and want to hang on to it, just drop me a line at steve@clyw.ca with your mailing address and I'll send you a consolation prize. :) -Steve
Why do some players who go into contest with your yoyos wear your company t-shirt and they aren't on your team? Like David Stejskal for example.
Well, you don't *have* to be on our team to buy a shirt and a return top and show up to a contest rocking both of them. It's really wonderful that people love our brand so much that they want to support us publicly! We're super flattered when players do this, and we appreciate it a lot. It's also a good way to get our attention. *hint hint* -Steve
How can I tell if my avalanche is an OG avalanche or a new avalanche?
Mainly design. The outer rim on the new avalanche is more angled. While the OG is more round. There are a few other really subtle differences. That's the main one that is easily noticeable. -Chris
so if/when you start production over seas, will they only produce the more budget friendly return tops and the higher end ones stay in north america still or will they produce everything? i don't care who produces either way as i'm sure you will still accept only the best anyways i'm just curious.
If we end up producing anything overseas, it will only be new models that we have designed specifically to be produced there. We will never move any of our current line away from One Drop, they do a great job why mess with it? -Steve
