The material is very coarse. It's unique and amazing, but it's a very coarse plastic and depending on the string you use, it can cause premature wear. There is absolutely no way to account of all types of string anymore, so using a plastic this awesome unfortunately means that it doesn't play nice with some strings. The thin wall between the bearing spacers and the response pad is too thin, and can break if people yank out their bearings badly (which they usually do) or if you sand the inner wall to reduce string wear you can accidentally sharpen that rib, which then cuts your strings. The press-fit nuts are generally centered, but the hole the axle protrudes from has too much play and can introduce vibe. And the specific contour of the inner wall leading down to the bearing cavity has an angle that, when combined with the coarse plastic, can roughen up over time and cut strings. The return top plays beautifully when it's all dialed in, but there are just too many problems. Time to move on. -Steve
Steve Brown, is engraving the final step in the production of The Orca? If not, could you please tell me what comes after engraving? Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to all of these bogus questions.
I've posted this before, but Ask.fm really stinks for finding old answers. Machining / Anodizing / Assembly / Testing / Engraving / Packaging / Solicitation / Shipping To Retailers / Release / Fulfillment / OMG MY ORDER IS HERE!That's the order for how production happens. It's usually a 5 - 8 week trip, depending on any delays at any stage of the process. -Steve
Yeah, it looks that way. The design has too many problems...not sure they can be fixed. It might be better to just move along with a completely new plastic return top. -Steve
List every team members favourite colour/splash style! Jensen's too if you know it :)

The profile is kind of similar, but the weight distribution and play are totally different. Summit is a little slower and more solid, the AC2 is faster and floatier. -Steve
When can we see shark vs zombie beaver on a run of return tops, I really want one to match my og bvm.
Coming soon. -Steve
How long does it take to assemble?
Assuming there are no problems, 1 - 2 weeks for assembly, testing, packaging, shipping to retailers. -Steve
How many runs of the yeti has there been?
One molding run of black, one molding run of the colors. We still have parts left over from those runs. -Steve
