figured I'd let you know I'm having more fun with my big dipper than i do with my metal yo-yos haha, wasn't expect it haha :)

It's such a great return top, isn't it? Love it. -Steve

I'm so excited for EYYC! My first contest. Wouldn't have dreamed of meeting Alec & co. that soon! I won't be competing, I'm really just going to meet people and learn stuff. Trying to prepare myself though: would you try learning new stuff for prague or practice familiar stuff to have that down? :)

So you say your locking down the team, does that mean no more additions no exceptions? Even if someone wins a big contest using your throws and is an awesome guy?

We're all full up. -Steve

Why do you like 3 in 1 and how much do you use?

I like it because it works, it's cheap, and it's easily available. You don't need more than just a tiny half-drop. -Steve

Is the blizzard laser engraved?

Yes, the ones that went to retailers are engraved. The ones we have in our direct store are not. -Steve

steve for real wtf some noob is asking what kinda lube CLYW recomends and you gottta bea smartass about it?

I'm not being a smartass about anything, I'm telling people you can get something that works better, it's cheaper, and you can buy it locally without paying shipping.
People ask what I recommend, I tell them 3-in-1 oil. Then they immediately ask "well, what else do you recommend" and the answer is "I don't". I don't see any reason at all to buy overpriced yoyo-branded oil when you can get a can of 3-in-1 at a hardware store that will literally last you YEARS for like $5.
I'm here for people to ask me questions, but I can't do much if they don't like the answer and then insist on a different one. Sorry. I thought that saving them money and shipping was a pretty helpful thing to do. -Steve

Not a Yoyo question but how do you find marketing comparing to international business as a major? I'm about to go to uni and I'm still undecided about my choices.

I think international business would be generally more useful. If the people I've met who studied marketing in college are any indication, you're better off just learning it by doing it. -Steve

why do you have to lose money on an fg? wouldnt most of them be the anodizers fault? So shouldnt they pay for your losses?

Yeah, the anodizer credits us for the money we spent on anodizing. But that doesn't cover the materials, machining, shipping to the anodizer, shipping to us, assembly, testing, mental anguish of realizing how many of the run is Fools Gold, shipping to the laser engraver, lasering, shipping back to the assembly guys, boxing, and getting inventory counts. -Steve

How far can you get in guitar hero on "through the fire and flames" on expert mode?

Never tried. -Steve

are you guys looking to sponsor/considering any other players currently?

We've got one other player we are talking to, and once they're on board we are locking the team down for a while. -Steve

Thoughts on the paper cleaning method?

Never heard of it.
Also, now seems like a really good time to point out that the majority of all bearing damage comes from people trying to clean them. Just a heads up there. -Steve

When you says cleans bearing do you mean it gets rid of just the gunk or everything including whatever lube the bearing came with? Is a drop of thin lube the same as cleaning a bearing by using mineral spirits?

It thins out the lube that's in the bearing. It's not as effective at getting out whatever other crap is in there. -Steve

Why isn't Zach that active anymore? Before and after Worlds he's not talked about much. The Big Dipper doesn't even feel like his throw.

Zach has been really active in school, which is a huge deal and his biggest priority right now. And he's getting ready for Worlds 2016, which he doesn't talk about much publicly.
Not sure why you think the Big Dipper doesn't feel like his throw...he helped design it, and it's based off his other signature model, the Borealis. -Steve

What finish did you guys use on the blizzard? It rocks! Feels different from previous return tops.

It's blasted. All our stuff is blasted or tumbled. -Steve

I'm gonna go to a contest, but not compete. Can I still interact with the other players and such? Is this a normal thing to do? I'm just not at the level to be able to come up with a freestyle (as much as I would love to, :P).

Absolutely. Contests are frequently more of a social event than anything else. -Steve

I ordered my big fipper today but I dont have light lube. WHAT DO I DOO

Every single hardware store on the planet has some. In larger bottles than you will ever need, for usually half the price of any return top company lube. -Steve

I got into a debate with my mom whether yoyoing was actually a career or not(not for me specifically but generally) .. She latched on to the fact that you guys have multiple part time jobs to point that it wasn't stable... What do I say to that????

Chris and I are not the best examples to point to, because we are actively building a company, and have chosen to do it by putting the majority of the company's profits back into the business. Plus we both have so many other interests that it's hard for us to stay put in a single industry. But are there a LOT of options for a career in the return top industry? No, not really. Are there some, for people who are bright, bold, talented, and driven? Absolutely. -Steve
