Is producing a yoyo profitable? And is producing yoyo a a full time job for you guys?

It can be. This is not a full-time job for either Chris or myself. I also run YoYoNews.com, several contests a year, and manage a web store for a couple of artist friends. Chris is a pretty accomplished social media marketer and consultant, which is his main source of income. -Steve

I once saw a video showing how Riccardo loops his string to maximize length. Do you know where i could find it? I believe it was on the clyw facebook but cant find it.

It's totally cracking me up that everyone is crazy about this right now...this is how the Duncan demonstrators back in the 30s - 60s used to do it! Spare return top strings didn't start coming with loops tied in them until the 70s or 80s. #themoreyouknow -Steve

Steve, there was a error in the judging of the nyyc 2015. Evan should have gotten 4th not kurti. On results it says Evan had a discard but he did not. Watch the video. The +3 would have been enough to push him to 4th, and maybe 3rd.

Seriously, is the CLYW Ask.fm page honestly the best way to get ahold of the National YoYo League about a perceived contest error? I know that we've become a replacement for Google, apparently, but surely even we have our limits? You're killing me, LOL
Watch the end of Evan's routine. By rule, if the yoyo isn't fully wound in the players hand ready to throw at the end of the routine it is considered a discard.
Here is the rule passage from the official contest rules, which can also be found on the actual contest website here: http://www.nationalyoyocontest.com
"If the contestant cannot make the yo-yo come back to the hand fully wound and ready to throw, both a stop and a discard will be counted as a discard (minus 3). The string can have knots or be jammed, yet it needs to be fully wound to avoid the deduction."

In the future if you have any questions at all about the NYYL, scoring at a league event, or any other issues pertaining to the NYYL, just hit up the League directly by emailing league@nationalyoyo.org. Not only is it a much faster pipeline to your answer, but then I'm not taking time away from CLYW to dig in to NYYL stuff. :P -Steve

Anno seems slightly off on my Orange Chief. Visible ring inside one of the cups and on one of the walls. Didn't see any similar things on my red Bonfire. Is this possible?

Without you sending me an actual photo of it, I'm going to guess that what you are seeing are machine marks that are showing through the anodizing. This is something that is present in ALL return tops, but solid colors lack the distraction of splash and therefore these lines can be more visible. I'm assuming you are talking about a perfect circle ring, correct? Since perfect circles do not occur naturally in anodizing, if you are looking at a perfect circle you are looking at a machine mark.
If they are not perfect circles, then yes it's an ano flaw that somehow got through the assembly line. Please contact the retailer you purchased it from and they can either refund or exchange it for you. Sorry for the hassle. -Steve
