Yoyo Color Idea: Dirty Snow - White with yellow ( in a similar way of Nothern Lights)

Can't really do "white", but we could do a clear/yellow, kind of like the Green Apple? Not sure how that would look. -Steve

Chris uses SolidWorks to create our return top designs. And yes, the Scout should be available before Christmas. -Steve

I read an answer to one of your questions saying you didn't like answering questions about chase hadden, so I looked everywhere trying to find out what caused the controversy but I couldn't find anything. I'm dying to know. can you just sum up what happened without saying he just did something bad

What does it take for a company like yours to sponsor a yoyo contest? Offer money? Offer yoyos as awards to champions? What do you usually get as return? And what is the difference between different categories of sponsors, like from "Gold" sponsor to "Silver" sponsor?

That's a really good question.
There are a lot of reasons to support return top contests, but the idea of getting something back from the contest itself is usually really low on the list. Most contests basically just give you a chance to market your product to a bunch of people who already have your product and know all about it...so you aren't gaining a new audience there. And for us, we deal only in the end of the market where people buying our stuff already know a lot about current return tops, so it's not like people who are at the level of spending $100+ on a return top don't know who we are.
Mostly we try to just support the ones that we think are doing something great for the community. For 2015 we're kicking around some new ideas about what contests we're going to support and how we're going to do that, and we have lots of ideas but no concrete plans or solutions yet.
One thing is for sure...when a contest offers us a great opportunity to increase our market and really do something amazing for our brand, we are VERY interested. When a contest offers us a small logo on a backdrop and nothing else...that's not much incentive.
It's a tough thing to figure out how to handle. -Steve

Any plans to do holiday themed colorways/engravings again? Santa Gnarwhal was awesome. ...and Ninja Hurdles and Palli don't count as Christmas/Halloween. That's cheating.

I don't know if someone has already asked you this already but could you guys ever do a peak 2? I know the fans want it real bad...

We get that request a lot. Chris has said both "No way" and "Maybe for our 10th Anniversary" and one time he even said "The next person who asks is going to get a box of Yogi poop in the mail".
Ok, I might be making that last one up.
But really....it's not something we have any plans to do. If Chris gets suddenly inspired there might be a one-time tiny run of something strictly to celebrate CLYW's 10th Anniversary but I wouldn't count on it. -Steve

Saw the black squirrel on the clyw Instagram. I was thinking that should be a new color way, with black and brown acid wash or splash or both! Name it black squirrel. Or onyx mammal. Or something involving melanism I don't know I'm just shooting ideas

What is the likelihood of seeing a bi-metal design from clyw???

Pretty slim, unless we partnered up with another manufacturer to get them made.
To the best of my knowledge, bi-metal construction isn't something that our current machine shop is set up to do. It's a really finicky way to make a return top and you can end up with a HUGE scrap rate if they aren't *just so*. I know that YoYoFactory had a hard time with the 2014 Genesis (USA) and got everything worked out well with the Space Cowboy (China). I know that C3 has done some really nice stuff with the Berserker RX and the new Berserker SS but those are super pricey because of the high scrap rate.
Honestly, I just don't know if it's something that fits in our line at the moment, plus I just don't know where we would get them made. If we did make out, it would definitely be an "ultra premium" model, probably close in price to the Berserker SS or the Draupnir. -Steve
