could there perhaps be chances of requesting for a raw version of a return top?
Nope. Sorry. -Steve
you mentioned that solid colors were the cheapest finish for the yoyo. Could there perhaps be raw yoyos for sale in the future?
Raw return tops can have problems with oxidizing and bearing seats that deform over time. We don't release raw return tops as production...just not good enough. -Steve
When the next run of summits will be ??
Seven Summits - McKinley is coming Jan. 23rd. Beyond that, @onedropyoyos has done a pretty good job at keeping them in stock everywhere. -Steve
Can charles do a kendama tutorial his skills are so sick
The slow motion version of the Herding Cats video is pretty much one long tutorial...that's the thing about kendama tricks, they're pretty much exactly what they look like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3liDSvUiUgk
Steve. You told us that you dont care about dings and stuff. I think it would be a good idea to make some returntops with no colorway or a really simple one to maybe reduce the costs for those who dont care as well. Could this work?
That's why we do solid colors...that is the absolute cheapest finish possible for an aluminum return top. -Steve
I want to get my hands on my first bonfire,I liked the Chief and a lot op people say the bonfire is a step above.I have a preference for heaver, slower, and stable throws I already have a Sasquatch and love it.Would you recommend the Bonfire or the Scout when they release?
- Thanks
I'd recommend an Advance Scout or Scout. -Steve
Can Helen Keller YoYo?
She's dead, so I can't ask her. Never seen a photo of her playing, though. -Steve
With all the due respect Steve it wouldn't be a big deal to scratch, scuff, and ding your yoyos when you get them severely discounted or free thru sponsors, fanboys. It's feels A LOT different when there is $150 or better spent on a yoyo. Do you recommend damaging high end yoyos?
I've always felt the same way about every return top I've owned, either I paid for it or not; it's a tool. It's gonna get scratched, it's gonna get dinged, it's gonna get beat. While that video I posted is obviously me being obnoxious about it, the fact remains that the best players return tops are generally beat to hell. While I totally get the collector mentality, I have never been shy about using anything I get my hands on and I have a strict policy that I NEVER turn down a request for Walk The Dog, ever, no matter what I'm using or where I am. So do I "recommend damaging high end yoyos"? No. But I do recommend that you play them to death and don't worry about how they look. -Steve
Medium solid. Hold spin well, really stable, not as floaty as the Bonfire or Chief. -Steve
Sorry for the stupid question, I'm kind of new. What are painted peaks? Are they rare?
The original peaks were not anodized, they were hand painted. The result was pretty amazing looking. Plus there were some super limited ones, one-offs, that hit eBay that were hella rare. http://bit.ly/1u9rBkS
If you guys decided to retire a return top, would you let everyone know and push out one more run before it's officially retired?
We try to, but sometimes the decision is made after a run just doesn't do very well, and there's not enough demand to even merit doing a last run. -Steve
I replaced a pair in my Chief once....that's it. I have a couple of other return tops that probably need it, but I like to wait until they're just totally dead. They last forever. -Steve
When traveling at a subsonic speed during the last one hour of hyper sleep, which vector of the Romulan Nebula will suffer the wrath of the impenetrable quickening? And, for extra points, how many wraths to the nearest molton? Be specific. This is a real question.
Well, I live in the US. We have a fair bit of team in the US. Chris comes down for a visit once in a while, though. -Steve
Look at yoyofactory's post on instagram! it says that you can now use yoyo in Canada!
Maybe you should look at it again. It says "yoyo" is a registered trademark in Canada, which it is. It belongs to Papa's Toys, which means that no one but them can use it. If you look at that picture again, you'll notice that the word "yoyo" doesn't appear anywhere on their packaging. -Steve
