I never used Kitty string fat and for the first time I used one in my Bonfire that I got yesterday and is it just me or does the string kinda feel plasticy at frist? I noticed the difference after playing the string a bit more. Do Kitty String Fat need time to break in? I always use KS normal.
I always thought it played pretty nice right off the bat. Tastes may vary!

Just got my Bonfire and it is REALLY REALLY GOOD. After a few throws though, the bearing got louder. Is that the way it's supposed to be because I opened the yoyo and I spined the bearing and it sounded a little gritty or dry. Should I put a small drop of yoyofactory long spin/thin lube on?
A little lube is great, but bearings do gain some noise once they break in. Some break in faster than others, but yah...don't be afraid to add a drop or two of lube.
Pretty sure the YoYoFactory Long Spin stuff is actually a solvent that helps clean your bearing, not lubricate it. Might be wrong on that.

Is it bad to swap response pads in a yoyo the same you would like a bearing?
Not really...although pulling out pads and then trying to re-use them is going to damage the adhesive, which could give you a pretty heroic snag if one comes loose while you're playing.

Don't get too excited though...some of those there are only like two or three of them available. Since we switched over to having One Drop handle all our machining, the number of Fools Gold from each run has dropped dramatically.
