I only have enough cash to buy an fg now...but i dont really want my first clyw to be fg as it might well mar the experience...should i go for it and buy an fg now or should i wait till i can buy a retail one...

If you're really worried about having a perfect first experience, save up for a regular model at retail. If you just want to dip your toes in the water and see what the fuss is about before you commit that much money, get a Fools Gold. -Steve

I think Ayumu has been zac gormleing a lot lately. Hes still one of my fav players.

Not familiar with Zach Gormley as a verb. So Ayumu has been winning the World YoYo Contest and then working hard at school-ing? -Steve

Do you prefer the orca or the borealis?

I'm more of a Borealis guy, but I love the beefy profile of the Orca. -Steve

Will you be adding more FGs to be sold on the site, Or are the ones on the site now all of them? because If I remember correctly there were FG Sasquatchs you mentioned?

I haven't finished adding everything. -Steve

I think I wanna buy one of the fg orca and a fg arctic circle 2. How different are their play styles?

There is literally only one FG Arctic Circle 2, so good luck getting it!
The Orca is more stable and solid, while the AC2 is a lighter, floatier playing return top. They're very different, and while I like them both I don't think they are two models that you are likely to switch between often...you'll probably have a definite preference. -Steve

Any splash/solid runs of Chief/Bonfire coming soon?

Neither of those are scheduled for production right now, but I think we're hoping to get them into the production queue soon. -Steve

The website has a bunch of sold out fg tops. Did I miss the drop?

No, it hasn't happened yet. I just put the products back up so that you could all see the colors that will be available. :) -Steve

Sorry if this question is bothersome but i think I want to get an igloo and I was just wondering if you had any info about the realease, like when and which colors?

They have finally arrived in the US, and are being tested/packaged now. Should have an update on release date fairly soon. :) -Steve

Dear Steve Do you ever get tired of people asking about new releases and FG drops? It's honestly become a bit grating to read, and it's not like you guys withhold information, you announce dates as soon as you have a definite date, so why do people need to ask? Thanks!

Here's the way I look at it: when people come here looking for answers to questions that most of our fans already know the answers to, that means they are new to the sport or at least new to CLYW. A primary measure of success for most anything is growth, so if I am constantly answering noob questions, day in and day out, that means we are gaining players and gaining fans and things are going well.
Yeah, I can get a little bit dull sometimes to answer the same thing over and over again (this is the third time I've gotten this question, ha ha) and I definitely wish that Ask.fm had a better search function but mostly I'm just grateful to still have a job in the industry I love, and to be helping new fans learn more about a company that I love. -Steve

I'm thinking of getting a blizzard next time yybb has a sale, how does it play? I might buy the borealis instead if it doesn't sound like a good fit

It's pretty amazing, really. It's got the same general feel and style of a CLYW design, but it just powers through tricks like a truck. Never seems to stop spinning. -Steve

Should I compete at worlds. I've never been to a competition before but I'm not sure whether I should go, have a good time and just soak it all up. Or would it be worth it to compete. If you think I should compete can you give a little info on how to register for wild card and get a membership.

If competing is really important to you, then do it! If you just want to be around other players and soak up the awesome, then save your money and just get a spectator pass and hang out and have an awesome time. :) -Steve

How's the bonfire for learning new tricks? As opposed to your other return tops.

The only thing we make that might be "better" for learning new tricks is the Blizzard or Igloo, only because the bi-metal design gives you long spins and more stability. Other than that, all our mono-metals are going to be about the same for learning tricks. -Steve

Do you recommend getting an orca or a blizzard?

I recommend that you look at the specs, think about what you need out of a return top, and then choose the one that seems most appealing to you based on your own needs as a player. -Steve

What yoyo would you reccomend to people for their first CLYW throw? I think I remember you saying the chief, but I'm not sure if I remembered correctly

Yep, I recommend the Chief...you remembered correctly! -Steve

How come you mainly put engravings on your solid runs but not your splash runs?

Because on the splash runs there is already plenty to look at...adding the engraving means that the two elements are now competing for your attention. With the solids, the engraving stands alone and can be subtle and small and engaging in a different way. -Steve
