I go to an Naia and pay maybe 5k a year because of my gpa and act scores with the scholarships that I got I pay a small portion of the 30k normal tuition and I'm an athlete if you were wondering. Better education most naia and d2 athletes won't make the pros plan for you're future student b4 athlete

What kind of a message do you think it sends to kids that when things don't go your way you just transfer schools? What ever happened to building character and making the most out of your situation?

I will speak hypothetically because we may never know if this was purely a basketball move. I agree with you. at this age winning doesn't mean that much. education and character are too important.

Ford at PG, Dale at the 2, Sommers a lock down defender and slasher, McPherson at the 4 and Grizzle down low with an athlete like Johnson coming off the bench is a nice collection of talent.

Sure but they didn't win. No disrespect intended but talent that is at a level to win state. respect each of these young men but three of them were football players.

I don't think anyone got turned down by a D2. I just think most athletes don't typically get full rides to NAIA schools unless they have great GPA's. Why pay $15000 a year after an athletic scholarship to play a sport. If you can go to an NAIA school for free you are doing it!

I think they get capped out around 85 to 90%. I don't know what level of degree you get but I don't believe these young men are coming out of pocket as much as you think.

Speaks to the fact it is harder for Tongie to get enough talent at once to get something going. McBride is doing something right to make kids want to come there.

If they make the team. most of the students as well are backed by their strong academics. Juco is hit and miss especially in Kansas where a lot of talent get asked to come but never make the team. I don't know officially but I think they get funding for these kids.

Has he had any big offers?

I am not sure if he has any offers. Zach honestly is not the fastest or most athletic player we have in the area but without question to me he is the smartest. The other word I would use for him is that he is crafty. He struggled from the field in the 3 games at state but honestly won the first two games at the line. We will see if he lands somewhere.

What are the season stats for Zach Jackson from Lansing

14 ppg, 2 apg, 2 rpg. 43% from 3, 83% from the line. The last number was vital for Lansing staying undefeated. I bet that percentage in the 4th quarter was higher.

If I had to choose me five it would be- Benny at the 1, Joe Schneider at the 2, Colin Murphy at the 3, Ryan Murphy at the 4, and Dominique Wilson at center because of his length. That would be a hell of a team

That would be pretty sick. Wilson's problems were not on the court at all. He was a rebounding machine at times. Pretty sure he had a 20, 20 game against Schlagle but that may be a fish story.

If I had to guess your top 5 from the last 3 years they would be Beebe and Long from Piper and the 3 Jackson brothers from Bonner. Yes Jamison also. Right? Mine - Parker, Roark, Schneider, C. Murphy and the fifth one between R. Murphy, Younger, King, Stacy, Grice and Carson.

Thats the thing I didn't cover Lansing up until this year. I would put Parker and King. Collin I would do as a 3. I don't know if I would do Carson because if I am building a team I would probably want to have Dominque Wilson's length down low. You could use Carson as a 4 but Ryan Murphy would be able to stretch a bit further. So you ask me to lock down to 5 and you name 10 or is that sarcasm as well.

Chase younger committed to johnson county community college today

We saw JCCC and they had 7 active players so a lot of new faces will be coming in there. Says a lot for him that their rebuilding efforts include him. I know Jack todd on the team who is a freshman this year. I think he is a good kid. Real happy for Chase and I look forward to watching him next year.

Good luck with the list of 5 players from the last 3 years that someone keeps asking for. Here is another chance for you to get on some peoples shit list. You are never going to win no matter how much of your money and time you put into promoting KCAL/KVL football and basketball.

I am not trying to win anything really. I really enjoy all the conversation. This is the beauty of sports and what the community needs, to talk about it. The more we all talk the greater chance someone with scholarships will hear and listen. If I made everyone happy with everything I said then I suck at this more than I thought. :)

Thoughts on Sumner Basketball next year?

I am actually excited about it. They have another crop of talent coming up with Jalen Taylor, Sadique Perkins and still two more years with Derek Sykes and Jordan Young. Very high on what they will look like next year.

Wouldn't be surprised if you gave Jordy Jackson that scholarship.

I only have one submission and he is not it. I also am not going to be the only person to review. This is a defeated attitude really because the requirements for this are just a little time to tell a story. free $500 to help support someone in college and only 1 out of the 7500 students I cover has submitted. you can't win if you don't play.

Paul's gift is football although he put up decent numbers for the basketball team. if he was playing big then yes that is a glaring example.
