Andy didn't play for us his junior and senior years because he plays for the Sporting KC Juniors Academy. (which is a super big deal.) he's crazy good.

That is pretty sick. I have a friend that is in to soccer so I hear about this kind of stuff. Good for him.

Oh and Alex Bolewski who's cheering at kstate.

Good school choice. Taj Brimmer from Sumner Academy is a cheer leader there.

Actually, there's at least 4 from Lansing. Madison Bosworth is rowing at K-State and Andy Ericks is playing soccer at Colorado School of Mines. Jordan Maestas is running track/XC for Wichita State, in addition to Joe playing ball at Air Force.

I should have thought about Madison Bosworth who was our 2014 SHUKC Scholarship award winner. I honestly didn't watch any boys soccer. I may next year though.

Are you doing any state track coverage this weekend?

I am not going to make the trip although I think I would thoroughly enjoy it. I didn't realize that they bring all classes together to compete at the same location. That has to be a crazy scene in Wichita. I do wish all those headed there the best of luck.

Whats up with KC Schlagle football this up coming yr?

I don't know. I am interested in seeing how Rodney McNeal comes out along with the young running back Ruff. I didn't get any of them out for the combine so we will have to wait and see if the summer program is setup and if they participate in 7 on 7.

Any KC area schools participating in Vype magazine 7on7 shoout? I think SM West made the final game with Derby last yr.

Austin and I have toyed around with forming a 7 on 7 team but hasn't happened yet. I am not aware of any. I know that 7 on 7 is right around the corner though.

Yes he torched ft Scott as well...his highschool teammate Paul jones will be in the backfield with him again this fall. He had a great spring game

I saw some pictures of them both. Backfield reunited. Awesome story.

Yes Jarek smalley and matt mcdonald are both starters and big time for garden city

Yeah I am hoping for the best for Matt. He had that first run early in the season before the injury.

Stats mean nothing in high school baseball... I have pitched to teams such as mill valley and rockhurst and if you compare my stats to pitchers who have thrown to no good teams it just doesnt tell how good the pitcher is you actually have to watch a baseball player to see how good he is

I agree which is why I avoid the conversation. I haven't watched so can't answer.

Did you Know Jarek smalley out of Turner is a big time D1 prospect ? He plays in garden city

I knew he was there and am not surprised. He was an All SHUKC performer his Junior year at Turner. Definitely had the size and strength so good to hear he is making some noise at the next level.

Which players who have went off to college in past classes would you say had pretty good freshman years ?

Potter got off to a good start. Jowell Daniels contributed his freshman year as well. TJ Wallace played at Highland.

Dakota smith best pitcher to ever pitch in the KVL currently at KVL. Attended LV then Lansing. Just my thoughts not really a question

I wouldn't know.

Me either the only two I know of is cole holloway from tongie and DeShawn Haney from Park Hill is going to play at Missouri Valley. I'm not sure if you heard of him

I spoke to him on Twitter.

Best pitcher you cover since kvl release

I saw Cowan pitch before. I would need to check stat lines.

Do you know any more kansas or missouri football players playing NAIA next fall?

Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone. would need to look through my posts.

Do you like the way tonganoxie boys Shane Tyler and Travis play the game of baseball

I have never seen them play.

Do you know where i can find out about the all state team?

those are released by newspapers. I don't know if the capital journal does that or not but it is not hosted by Kshsaa.

Are there going to be any college players at the Friday morning workouts?

Ben Johnson and possibly Drew Potter. Wyatt Weeks and Cole Holloway may come.

Do you think Brooks will be a bigger threat in basketball? Or does he have a better chance in track ?

He should play football. I don't know the recruiting scene for track and how that works. I don't know his numbers in track either. I would have to check if he was among our leaders.

How do you think cole holloway will produce at a top NAIA school Benedictine???

Austin Bennett thinks he would be a good fit in their spread offense. Cole is a great young man and future leader in the community. Great family and I am sure he will work hard. The results are not as important as long as he graduates imo.

You kinda exclude Tongie from your sports talk.. You don't give the school any credit at all sports, adcadimics! There baseball team is just won a regional title for the first time in 20 years... Their debate teams is arguably one of the best in the state... FCCLA is one of the top in the nation

Hmm. I picked Tongie all through football going into my first season covering them. I didn't broadcast a game there which I regret a bit now but my coverage again is just getting started in Tongie. I do not follow baseball or debate. I don't know what FCCLA is. So while I think it is awesome the accomplishments of the schools but I am not as active this time of year. The fact I shot pictures at 3 track meets is a step in the right direction. I went to a soccer match for a half as well last night. PROGRESS. If you don't think I get any credit then you haven't been following all year.
