Bailey is better than D. Jennings?

I don't think they are even a good comparison. Bailey will be perhaps the most explosive player this winter. Interesting question. Its like comparing Duncan to Griffin. Two different styles. I like Jennings. He is a keypiece for Piper but today iI would take Bailey.

Younger is a talented scorer and when he is hot, he is tough to beat. He shoots the ball a ton (three times more than any teammate) and is only an average defender. The other two guards will look to score more this season. Muldoon is very fundamentally solid, defends well, and cleans the glass. Fun

The defense part of Younger is fair. The one thing I like about him is that he has an itchy trigger. Some may perceive that as being selfish but I am partial to firing away. I really think the substate game against Sumner was what prevented him from winning the award last year. If he would have led that team with everything that happened to state then he would have been a hard name to keep off the trophy. I am not knocking Muldoon. He will be a fine player for Basehor. I am looking forward to what McBride does with him.

If you use MaxPreps then you know there is not a huge difference between Schneider and Long, yet one has been mentioned for POY (rightfully so) and one not. Considering the number of scorers on Piper's team last year, how do you determine the difference?

This is a very good question and argument. You could also say that Luke's team beat Schneider in their one match up last year. To simplify my thinking a little bit you could look at it as a draft problem. I think the world of Luke as a player but if I am standing on a court with Voorhes, Younger, Schneider with the first pick I would likely take one of them first. So the difference is strictly opinion and we need to keep in mind that this is nit picking. These guys are good but there is only 1 POY. This is all preseason talk. If Luke comes out and goes nuts this season then you can rest easy he will be considered. I am not naming any official candidates. The play on the court will determine it at the end of the year. You can rest easy I will be watching closely.

You have your stats wrong look at Max preps

I use Maxpreps. I am not following what you are asking. Go post in the forum and lets talk about it.

If you go off of stats which you should who are the top Defensive players

Not sure if we are talking football or basketball. Numbers on defense are again one of those subjective things in regards to tackles. McKinzy, Beebe, Dumler, Richards, Gibbs, McNeal, Phillips, Levy are all going to be key defensive players. Numbers also don't factor in double teams which free up others to do well.

I think that Muldoon may end up a basketball POY dark horse. For whatever it is worth, I know quite a bit about basketball and also think Schneider is the most complete player in the area, but unfortunately he plays in an offense that doesn't fully capitalize on his talents. Would you agree?

If Muldoon is even in the conversation then Younger won't. I really think Basehor is going to be chucking a lot of 3's. We will have to see what coach McBride does but I don't see the offense flowing through Muldoon to be a serious contender for that award. I think Lansing's offense is just fine. Schneider is just not selfish enough in it. If he just triggers this year he will see his numbers go up overall.

There is one coach who has been rumored for years to "pad" stats to get players better looks. What do you think of this?

I haven't seen or heard that. I will say that I use the stats a lot when making highlights. If someone on defense for example had three sacks, I will go find them. I have not found a case where I question stats. Except maybe for tackles. That is a very subjective stat to keep.

does anyone on here know what they are talking about? joe schneider is the most overated player in the area some how he became mo-kans darling and got on the eybl team which sucked this year many teams in the aau circuit that could beat them day in and day out he disapears in big games!

I guess it really does matter what school you go to.

I want your insight on who was the best offensive skill, defensive and best lineman on both sides on that team? Who was the best basketball player on the team that year?

If we are talking Brisbanes senior year then I would say Benny Parker was the most dangerous weapon on that team. That offense was very good. I don't remember the lineman. I liked Willis. Parker was the basketball player. Due respect to my cousin.

I believe Schneider and Voorhes are the only two players in KVL with D1 interest. Voorhes with a Lehigh offer and Schneider with visits to UNO and Air Force. Younger may be an NAIA type of player. Do you agree?

I honestly haven't seen much of Voorhes but I have heard he is very good. I only saw the Lansing game at Mill Valley and obviously not their best effort. This is a good opinion for sure. I would buy this.

Ward is returning 6 starters in baseball. What are your thoughts and predictions for Spring 2014?

They did real well last season. Had a heart breaking loss in the playoffs. I really don't know details but I promise we will be watching closely this year. We will broadcast some baseball. Hopefully we have done a good enough job in football to get basketball and baseball on TV as well.

No offense to Younger. But saying he's the best in the area is completely false. Schneider is on a different level than him

I think I said he was in my top 3. We will see. I don't know if I would say different level. They are both good.

What qualities would make a good leader? And what athletes would you say have been the best ones

Leaders care and this is not to be taken lightly in my opinion. It is impossible to be a good leader if you don't care enough about the team and its success. A leader makes the entire team better whether they are having a good night or a bad one. A leader doesn't know the word quit. Armand Brisbane, Benny Parker, Johnathan Jackson come to mind. J'Veyon Browning is up there as well. Joe Schneider is one of the best as he sacrifices his own success for the team.

What do you think about Qb sanders from basehor

7 on 7 isn't a good gauge but if it was I liked what I saw. He had good velocity on his passes and accurate. I don't know who he is going to throw the ball too though. I know Lindsay and McPherson but not sure whether that will translate.

What qb has the best arm you've ever seen?

I have only been watching the last few years. McKinzy is probably the best overall QB. Murphy is good as well as Brisbane.

Will ward have a good chance for state in baseball and basketball since they are being moved to 4a b??

That is a good question and one I will need to research. I don't know what they have coming back in baseball. the split is interesting though and could mean some state trips for them.
