They would be playing this year if that were true but for Ward's sake I hope that is true.
Lansing is going to struggle against Tongie on Tuesday. Haven't played in over a week and never plays well at Tongie. Lions need to watch out!
Its possible. Trying to motivate an undefeated team is hard.

Will you've in attendance for any Ward baseball games this spring?
Not sure as it will really depend how I feel after the all star game and award ceremony. I will be honest that I start to burn out at this time of year and need a break. I may make some games though.

I am sitting next to a Dennis Hurla player from the 70''s and he said as long as he is the coach at Ward they will always be good.
What do you think about ward highschool sports?
Just that they need more students to choose from. Huge disadvantage.

Would you rather have a deep team like Piper's or a team with a consistent starting 5? And does a deep team hurt senior players looking for scholarships?
A deep team to me is 5 or 6 players. In the end I think Piper will eventually go like 7 or 8 deep. No I don't think that affects scholarships because if you are that good you would be playing even more I am sure.

Chase Younger. I don't know about a senior girl.
Do you think seniors for Bishop Ward next year will do good in basketball?
No. If they aren't doing anything now on this team then I don't see it getting better next year.
If you was to put together an all time starting five using KCK players who would you choose ?
That is so tough. I do not at all feel qualified to answer an all time team. Vernon would do a lot better on that one than I would.
What's in the future if those three athletes you mentioned Johnson potter and McDonald. Will McDonald go Bcs or Fcs? Will Johnson get some playing time at KU? What about potter?
McDonald got off to such a great start last year before getting hurt. Hopefully he will be able to bounce back and pick up where he left off. We would have to see how he develops next year. Not sure if he got a medical red shirt or not. Johnson I am guessing will play. I look at red shirts as one of the most positive things that can happen if you are not going to get a ton of PT. I haven't seen Ben but a year in a BCS football weight program hopefully has treated him well. He has the god given size and ability so I expect big things. Potter is doing great after one year at SOuth Dakota. He scored the TD at KU and was on the field in many different capacities and was a freshman all american or some type of honor which is great! He will do just fine. I would be happy to see each graduate and be successful people using football to get it for free.

I agree that they have pretty wild swings. I would assume the rotation may tighten up as the year goes on as coach is still going 9 or so deep. I finally saw the desired result of that depth last night as they wore down Sumner. One good quarter is not going to get it down over a long stretch of games. They need to still find some consistency. Imagine if they came out and played like they did in the third quarter for an entire game?

I don't like answering this type of questions because I am not working with everyone. I can say who consistently comes to work with us and goes hard but there are probably many that put in the time.
Do you think Sumner showed fight in the 4th quarter? They appeared to show fight but, fatigue and coaching appeared to seal the loss. Exciting game to watch.
Coaching doesn't make layups, fatigue was the key but yes Sumner played very hard and showed a lot of guts.
Who were some of the best athletes to come out of KC the past year ?
McDonald, Ben Johnson, drew potter. I would say just check our teams from last year.
Who do you think will win KVL state championship!??
kvl league basketball is likely going to be Lansing. Basehor and Lansing look like state contenders. Piper could be if they channel that third quarter tonight.
Adams from bonner may play some TE next year. Thoughts?
He will do fine. we will get him right over the summer on routes and foot work.
Are you suprised w/ how many guys in the area are going to an MIAA school next year? Who did you expect and who didn't you expect would end up at that level?
Last year it was a never ending list of JUCO committs. I am honestly thrilled. we will see more.

So that is the current sophomores. I really don't know just yet. Its basketball season!!
What are your thoughts about the game?
Piper showed their depth tonight and wore down SUmner who only went about 7 or 8 deep. It was an entertaining game. Piper took their foot off the peddle a little early for my taste but they were able to hold on.
