You have encouraged Long to take more shots since you started following him, yet tonight he only takes 2 or 3. Made good passes but passed up a lot of open shots. Why do you think that is?

He appears to me to take over when it is needed. there is a lot of fire power on the team and being willing to let others get theirs first is his mentality. This isn't a bad thing. I just hate the idea of my best scorer only taking a few shots. depends as well how he is being played. He isn't selfish is my best guess.

Why does Basehor Linwood get so much hate on here? Them boys can play.

For the very reason you just said. If no one is hating on you then you probably aren't good.

As the season winds down, just want to say thank you to Mr David Brox and his team for their interest and coverage of the KCK and KVL league ! Good luck to all the teams in Sub-State ! Also nice job with the games of the week ! Must be time consuming but much appreciated ! Keep up the good work !

Many people bragging about some Basehor teachers, coaches being on all 90s basketball list. Did you guys read the list ? I stopped counting at 600. Not a knock on the Basehor guys but that's like our society giving trophies for participation. Just an odd list to include so many ?

I have not seen this list.

My son has practice till 7:00. I will see how that goes if I will drive down there. I will check where the JV game is when he gets done.

A good coach makes appropiate adjustments when needed.Up in the 3rd quarter by 9 why wouldn't Basehor go to a zone to help stop with Lansing spreading the floor and taking it to the bucket ? One knows Lansing will do this EVERY game in the 2nd half. 5 old fashion and ones in the third quarter alone.

You hit the nail on the head. Lansing will do that. playing zone against Lansing is not a good idea. Jackson and Schneider shoot too well.

Its fun as chatter about our schools, players is a good thing. Maybe it spawns a coach to look little closer at one our kids. The second part I don't know. most times the good players are the ones discussed. I am always up to discuss the kids I cover. I am at a point though I need to filter what questions I answer. especially the repeats.

Basehor fans are always looking for an excuse. If they can't blame a loss on fouls then it has to be McBrides fault. Never can they just accept a loss to a good team.

A few do not represent all fans. There are a large majority of good fans at Basehor.

What do you mean about the JUCO level?

Just in terms the elevation of speed and continuity of the game. Even at the Juco level you are talking about an upgrade overall because the players were picked.

If you were coaching a HS team, would you continue to be making substitutions for your starters in games and having them sit considerable minutes, or would you let them roll? I feel at this time of year it needs to be about continuity and letting those players get into a rhythm.

Depends on what starters we are talking about. we have been vocal about Piper not going as deep. I think we have seen that. some players thrive coming off the bench. also depends on how each player is going game to game.

the only thing that will stop a state title run for the basehor bobcats is the coach

Man you are really on McBride. The man has two state titles and a ton of wins in his career. He has lost three games this season twice to the best team in our area and a 6a power. If they lose it will be because the other team is more athletic not because of the coach. I have zero issues with him in game.

What are your thoughts on Luke Long!? Is he a next level player!?

I am not putting limits on Luke. he will play somewhere next year. Getting to watch the juco level live has offered a little more perspective. Great young man.

Lansing is easily 10 points better than every team in the state besides BVNW. If they don't win state this year it is a choke job. No other way around it.

How on earth would you know that without having traveled to see Eisenhower or Highland. I completely disagree.

He handled himself well enough to be Blue Springs. I won't say Lansing can't do anything. Last run at State for a while so they should go all out.

After watching the Lansing-BL game tonight, I would to see this Lansing team play the Murphy's BL team. Would have been fun to see those matchups

I am more hoping to see them play Eisenhower or Highland. Eisenhower is also undefeated with a d1 guard. Highland is a very athletic team. no need to fantasize when we are starting at these types of matchups. wish I was broadcasting these.

once again coach mcbride gets out coached, makes no adjustments and sketchy substitution patterns at critical times of the game, why would you have your point guard sitting with a 3 point deficit? mcpherson not ready for this yet he is a no pass turn over machine he is not a point guard

I didn't get to watch the whole game so no real response other than Lansing is very good.

How is the contestants in the three point contest decided?

There will be preliminary rounds at the practices leading up to the game itself. I am thinking we will have 2 finalist from each league that will participate on the night of the game. I am pretty open. If you are playing then you can get in by request. Not just anyone off the street can get in. You need to be on a varsity roster and logging some PT.

Well I didn't bring it up but heard a key player for Bonner was out. very good win for Lansing girls.

Who takes league in basketball in the kcal

Washington (Boys) and Sumner Academy (Girls) have their fate in their hands.

You excited for the Lansing/Basehor game tomorrow? I can't promise you a double overtime thriller but I can promise you a Lansing victory

I will take a nice competitive game. I am excited about it. I think each of these teams has lived up to the billing in these matchups. I appreciate all of their effort.

Basehor played Lansing hard until late in the game it got away from them last time. Who do you have tomorrow night?

That is true but that is exactly what Lansing does. Piper had control of the game until they went nuts. This is no slight at all to Basehor but Lansing is more athletic at almost every position. Gibson, Schneider, Bailey all play above the rim. Basehor will have to be red hot from outside.
