All-KCK team from last 5 years offense and defense?

I haven't been watching the last 5 years. I may do this after the season because this would be tough. Hell just the QB position would be sick Murphy, Brisbane, McKinzy. RB is just as bad.

Joe Schneider is the best basketball player in this area and a team first leader, do you think he will play D1?

Joe is very good. I really like his game. The first comment is debatable but he is going to be a contender for our player of the year. You have to be so damn good to play D1 and if he was that good I really think we would know that he is going D1 now. Because of the amount of exposure for basketball there are few cases where someone finds out there senior year that they are going to get recruited. He struggled against the speedy guards from SM South and again that is not a knock but if he isn't going to play PG he would have to be a 2 which he may be a little undersized for at the D1 level. Again nothing but respect for this young man but I would say no.

will you still be pro-piper when basher beats them yet again in basketball?

Yes. No one will accuse me of bandwagon jumping. Bad on the knees.

thoughts on Williams? d1 bound or no?

Many factors. I don't know where he is grade wise or even the act. Skill wise he has the potential.

Im going to call it now. Ward over BL in the season opener. Whats your take?

A young man said this at media day last year. I would be shocked. It would also be a wake up call.

Shouldnt Wootens transfer to Ward make them stronger remember he has good chemistry with Dorian when they were at Schlagle

That is a bit of news I hadn't heard until now. Yes that would have a big impact as he was an impact player for Schlagle. I won't say recruiting but this is an interesting story if true. I haven't confirmed this yet.

What is the world's best song to dance to?

Last year I was at the Texas vs Kstate game and after an INT the PA guy put on House of Pain - Jump Around and the whole stadium went nuts. I can't dance but I can jump!

I just think they are someone you should follow, they are the Cinderella story of the league

I will have my eye on all 14 schools. Some may get more attention based on success but I obviously love the Cinderella story. I was riding around in the Washington Wildcat pumpkin all of last year before midnight struck.

Can ward explode and take a lot of wins this year, by that I mean do you see any potential this year? wards main weakness has been lineman and through recruiting they now have 300 pounders across the board! Not to mention the receiving core with a new qb in brull. I think they go 500.

Explode is stretching it a bit. I have not heard the recruiting part and haven't heard much about the line. Yes there are some athletes on this team. I have said a few times if Brull is a viable option at QB (I think he has a very strong arm) then that will give Coach Dorian some freedom with Bryan Barnhart who is probably their best runner. Barnhart can get in space a lot easier if he is not playing QB. Tucker is a good WR. I think we should shoot for a win first. Then we can start talking about 500. I don't see them beating Piper, Atchison or Bonner. .500 may be a stretch.

Can mckinzy compete with a defense like atchisons?

I watched a bit of that game last year and the answer is yes. They held Wyandotte to 13 I believe and that was impressive. Some key pieces from that defense specifically Patrick Boos won't be there. Lets not be silly and say he can't compete. Can Atchison cause a threat to stopping Wyandotte. Yes.

You should walk to the school that wins league over the Dot.

Rest assured I gave this a bit of thought before putting this out there. My word is bond so I do plan to deliver if I lose. Atchison is a legit threat and you can rest easy that I am not walking there from any where.

You anything About Washington's D-line?

I don't know a thing. Please email me and tell me about it though. davidbrox@shukc.com

Who are the top 5 football players you will cover this year?

Offense: McKinzy, Berry, Jackson, Bailey, Williams.
Defense: McKinzy, Beebe, Dumler, Richard, Gibbs.

So based on your answers, it seems who scores the most is who gets considered for POY. So what player would you want more on your team, a well-rounded consistent player, or one who has the ability to put up big numbers on occasion?

I wouldn't say points is the only factor. Schneider for example is a stat stuffer. Leadership plays a role in this as well. Younger and Schneider will be the unquestioned leaders on their teams. Piper will have a group of leaders. Both can work but leadership plays a role when selecting a player of the year to me. As asked I would take the well-rounded consistent player. He wouldn't be the POY amongst 14 schools though. If I am coaching though give me the big number capability because I am going to figure out how to get him to put up big numbers consistently.

Does Lansing have in players to be POY?

Football I can envision Bailey and if things go well. If Abbott has a second weapon to take advantage of he could sneak up there numbers wise. We will have to see if he runs at all this. Basketball obviously Schneider will be a preseason favorite for the award.

Basehor got any POY canidates?

Football I am not projecting anyone to dominate like that. Basketball Younger will be a legitimate contender. He was a candidate as a Junior so obviously a pre season favorite to win the award.

Does Piper have in players to be POY?

In football Beebe obviously can be a player of the year on defense. I don't project anyone on the offensive side of the ball being in that conversation. Not impossible but just not something I see right now. Basketball I have to say no as well. Piper could again see 3 or 4 players average double figures. I am a big fan of Luke Long but I am not sure he is greedy enough to get the numbers he would need to be in that conversation. I am not encouraging him either to go out and deviate from what is working at Piper. they play team ball and should focus on winning games and not worry about personal accolades.

Who were you most impressed with at the basketball camp this weekend?

The easy choice would be Nunnally. I only got to see the first day and he did well. Commanded the ball and was aggressive on both sides of the ball. Kendall Dale was physical on the defense side of the ball on one on one drills. Tatum stood out a bit to me as well. David Patton showed a lot of leadership the way he stepped up first on drills and executed.
