Did you really pick Washington over Lansing? We all knew Abbott and Bailey would post big numbers, but Porter was a beast, and McQuillan showed he was the best back on the field! I almost forget to mention the Lansing D dominated from start to finish and feasted on a much hyped Washington backfield!

Who do you think didn't get to show their skill last night at the sumner ward game?

Should Lansing play 8 in the box, and dare Washington to throw? Can their O line keep Washington's D line out of the backfield?

Washington's passing attack is predicated off play action so sure you should have 8 in the box and cover the two wide receivers one on one. Bowens is probably their leading receiver out of the back field. They will look to play power football and use play action. Lull the defense to sleep pounding away and as soon as you come up to support they hit you with play action. Simple but affective. Couple that with option and you have something to go on.

Why did Sumner's coach only run the same plays on offense each drive?

We noticed this in the booth and the answer is pretty simple in my opinion. While we are 6 now 7 games into the season it is still a young team. There is enough to worry about in your assignment in 10 plays possibly than trying to put even more pressure on with 10 more. If you have the right personnel and expereince you can have 50 plays, 10 formations. If you are young then a solid argument can be made to run 10 plays really well and hope your execution gets you through. It took Sumner far to long to figure out that option play in the second half. Time and time again a sophomore of fresh #17 went in motion and a LB followed creating space on the opposite side. They figured it out late in the 4th when it was too late. A learning experience for this young Sumner team.

How many teams do you have for the tourney Saturday? Who do you expect to play big?

For the guys I have 16. The talent level is very high. Schneider, Swoope, Lester, West, Ballock, Nunnanly, Sykes, Long and a host of others from Turner, Harmon, Sumner. This is going to be fun and a great group. Admission will be a donation of at least a dollar. I real excited!!

Lansing better not look past Washington this week. Far less impressive backs then Williams have made their D look pretty bad. Who will be the player of the game and what do you think the final score will be?

I am not Lansing should over look anyone. I am putting the pressure on Washington. They are league champs and have athletes that should perform well. Javeon Williams will continue his march to a POY nomination. McQuillian for Lansing will he the key. I do think Washington's front has the players to lock down the run. Abbott will be running for his life Friday.

We got to chat with him before the game. nice guy. good spotlight for williams. minus the fumble he made an impression. had to see the speed from Moore, Wilson and ford.

Why do you think Lansing ran 2-1 against Ward when they usually do the opposite? Was it just to show they have a solid ground game?

I will assume you mean shot lol. yes. I think Washington has the pieces to get out of the district with mill valley. winning a game will depend a lot on who they play. many are picking Lansing from what I read today but I think Washington has a good chance against them. I will likely be at that game. atchison is my other pick to come out with Piper. the problem is they would likely play a tongie or Bonner in the second round. no worries on questions. I enjoy the chatter.

Do you think sumner will make the playoffs

They will win THursday but I don't see them beating Piper. They are far too 1 dimensional. They need a successful run to do the play action but I don't think they will ever get it going. I would be hard pressed to see them beating Atchison either.

Ward vs harmon?

You know that would be a good game. I think Bradley would be the best athlete on the field and would win that game. Harmon is not void of playmakers. Ramon Johnson was making plays.

If ward plays like they did against lansing they will win.

I haven't watched that game yet. Lansing threw the ball 14 times which makes zero sense to me.

Ward or Sumner?

I am rolling with Sumner. Cheering for Ward though. I think it could be a tough game. I have gotten asked a good number of times why I am doing this game. I think Ward deserves the spotlight. There are players that put in the work and I want to acknowledge that. Same with Sumner. There is some young talent on this squad.

javeon williams past friday?

He thrust himself into POY candidacy. He ran hard but will need to get some next level speed heading into next season. I told him that I was proud of him. Put his head down and led his team to their biggest win in 6 years.

Which tanner will win this Friday?

Atchison is a different team at home. I can't quite place why they struggle on the road. That crushing loss to Piper last year is going to be fresh in their heads but so is there poor performance against Schlagle. Piper's defense is starting to peek. Team Beebe at LB is starting to come on. I haven't decided my pick yet. I need to finish watch the Schlagle vs Atchison game.

I only took a few pregame. the game will be on tv in five minutes. this tv at 3:00 pm.
