Why is it that as soon as one kid finally gets in the spot light for a minute, parents from other schools tear them down? You're talking and gossiping about 16-18 year old kids? Are you really rooting for a certain kid to fail?

I hope that isn't the case.

With as cold as it's going to be for the next few days, I doubt Basehor or Piper has school till next week. Especially BL. What do you think and if they don't play Friday do you think they will make up the game. I predict a close game at Piper if they play what do you think? Thanks!

Well I obviously hope that doesn't happen. I don't know the requirements between two 4A schools because substate seeding is at play here. I hope it would be made up and if I know both of these coaches I would hope they would treat the fans to at least 2 match ups.

It has been my experience on social media that most athlete bashing comes from adults. The athletes themselves tend to respect each other and their game. It appears some adults have too much time on their hands. Your thoughts on some of the comments you have had on this site bashing kids?

Having an opinion on what level someone will play at is really bashing but I don't see a need to not be supportive across the community. Once the game is over I see nothing but respect between the players on twitter. It could be former players that didn't go as far as they would have liked but this is partly what I would like to have SHUKC be. A community, a village where we lift everyone up. We can talk critically but again the ultimate goal is to see our kids succeed. You don't have to agree with a choice by a college but in the end lets hope for the best for all of our kids.

Under classmen for basketball In the kvl?

Jack Dale, twins at Bonner. I need to see the young sophomores at Turner. Koch.

It's obvious at least one other school can't handle the success Piper is beginning to have in the KVL. I guess when you are no longer top dog you start throwing stones. Don't you agree, players should let there play do the talking?

I hope Tanner gets to play at Piit, but I know a QB who was 1st team all state and was only offered $3000.00 from Pitt St. Colleges bring in a lot of kids and hope to get a diamond in the rough.

Not sure how much money he got makes a lick of difference. he is getting the chance to go play.

The twins are on the same level as Henley and Brull? Im not taking a side either way. Just curious

Brull and Henley is a good combo. If either of the twins shot like Brull they will do very well. Brull starts for any team in the area.

You seem too make it as if Colton is the only good player at his school I know his teamates may feel underestimated

I apologize if they feel that way. I however won't be sorry about promoting a young man in pur area that is doing good things. he won the awards and has the skill to go with it. I will pump up anyone that stands out.

What's the easiest way to get your foot in the door if your trying to become a bball coach?

I would say getting on a staff is the first step. Maybe try and coach freshman or something.

KVL football next season, what are your predictions? Looks like Piper brings back a lot.

Minus Mill Valley yes Piper has a lot coming back. Tongie, Bonner lose a lot. We will have to see what the new coach at Basehor can do as well.

I too would be surprised if Eikanberry plays QB at Pitt. I would be surprised if he got more than a 1/3rd scholarship. Nothing against Tanner or Piper. This sounds like the same people that think that Long has a chance of getting a D2 BB scholarship. Long needs to hope for a Juco scholarship.

With seniors signing off for college who are some of the young football players to keep an eye on in the KVL for next year?

Logan Koch, Christian Jegen, Jared Sommers, Colton Beebe, Krystian Abbott, Colin McQuillan and his brother.

Has basehor had any commits on football that you know of?

I have not heard of any. doesn't mean they aren't. I know for sure a few will get offers.

Do you think Berry will play QB in college or be moved to a back/receiver position?

I don't know what they told him there at Washburn. He would be a hell of a option QB. I am not sure the system they run up there.

What do you say to athletes who put in the work day in and day out but aren't see the results

Not everyone is going to make it. Depends on who the kid is and what they are trying to do. A 5'8" kid can work until they are blue in the face but that doesn't mean they will be dunking a basketball. If you have a passion for something work hard and forget the results. Sometimes though reality has to set in but I will never begrudge anyone from trying.

No disrespect to tanner eikanberry but he is lucky to go D2. Would be surprised if he ever played there. Good player but not D2 good

He does and is a very good athlete. QB is just one of those positions that literally you are talking about being in the top 750 or so in the country. That is probably high. It is a tough pill to crack. He is going to do well at Pitt and get an education. That is pretty damn good imo.

Now that we are about half way into the season for basketball, who has stood out to you in the kcal so far? Girls and boys.

KCAL Girls: Kiara Brown, Ledesma (I don't remember last name) Schlagle, Donesha Womack, Sidney Patton, Arika Smith. Boys: Derek Sykes, Deionta Nunnally, Theo Bass, Marquis Barnett, Alvarez McCullough, JT Bennett, Luster, Gill, Huntington.

League bowling meet February 10th at west lanes broadcast it

I really don't know if there is an audience for bowling. Hell I struggle really to get a televised basketball game viewed let alone bowling.

I feel like if Sykes can contain Bennett and Young gets into a good groove on offense for Sumner then Washington could be in trouble.

Sykes is going to hold Bennett? Really. I know the coaching staff is high on Derek's on ball defense but that would be an odd matchup.

Do you think Adams will play at the next level?

Depends on if he gets his speed and power up. Anything is possible as he has two seasons to improve and hopefully grow.

Zach Jackson, Khalil Bailey, Joe Schneider, Patrick Muldoon, Chase Younger, Paul Berry is having a good year along with a young sophomore there at Turner. Boatwright and Koch, Long and Eskina have been steady. Girls: Haley White, Victoria Smith, Julianne Jackson.

I think Sumner is at their best when they really get into it on defense. Derek does decent job guarding bigs&guards when he wants to. Young has done a good job holding teams best players all year and keeping them below their average. If all 5 starters are solid on D Wash House will be in trouble !

If they play to their potential then yes Sumner can play with anyone. Confidence is the key and right now I don't know they have it for 4 quarters.
