That is not the case in football I don't think. Basketball they are in a district with Eudora so no.
How can you say Muldoon was the best player from last year? He cost Basehor their first game at state by not controlling his temper again and getting a technical in a crucial part of the game. Basehor is beginning to become the "transfer" school and the "program" is no longer there just transfers.,
Let me rephrase then. He was the most skilled player on the team. Pointing to one technical and neglecting everything else is a bit nit picky. He plays with fire but he can play the game well. Check stats from the game before pointing out just one play. He will figure out how to control it. I expect him to have a very big year.

Yes but major pieces return along with key transfer.
Muldoon is a very good player and Basehor should be a very good team. There are many teams that will compete however and I think the KVL will be much more competitive than many think.
Basketball is a little bit more of a given for me. If a player is good enough he is not likely crushing in JV for the whole season which makes surprises less likely. I am not saying impossible. There is a lot of young talent in the KVL but Piper and Lansing will rely heavily on players that did not play much last season. Ward is Ward. Tonganoxie lost Dale and Grizzle off that team. Tyler Ford is gone too. Basehor returns a good portion of a team that went to state along with their best player.
People on here don't now much about basketball too say Muldoon and Fliger will be unstoppable? Muldoon tends to be in foul trouble most games because of his temper and Fliger is far from unstoppable! KVL will be an easy eagle to win this year but will not prepare the champ for a State run
Agree no one is unstoppable. Basehor will get tested in substate this year.

thoughts on Schlagle basketball this season
We will see if playing the young guys last year will pay off for them. Brooks will have to take a big step forward. Young will need to play big. I forget the young guards name but lost a lot of scoring lfrom last year. Perhaps though more of a team look this season as they had two alpha males on the team last year.
Carson Fliger is the name of big kid from Basehor and he and Muldoon in the post will be near to impossible to stop
Was talking about the big kid from Mill Valley. Lets not use impossible. That will be a good tandem.
Best Saftey in KCAL?
No one throws the ball in the KCAL. If the safeties are getting a ton of tackles then that isn't really a good thing. I would have to look.

Abbott and Banks will have to play well. I am going to expect a nice sized step back.
didn't basehor beat MV by like 30 last year? I know Koch is solid... but the talent on this years basehor squad is not matched anywhere else. The twin towers, Dale, McPherson, Gorman, Gilliam are going to be huge for basehor.
We don't disagree. I hate myself I keep forgetting the big kids name. You only need 2 or 3 players to win on a given night. I said they would challenge not win the league.
Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. That's why I love basketball. Bonner, Mill Valley Both have a chance to beat basehor especially if they come in to the game complacent. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

What's your opinion on HS kids having tattoos and playing sports?
Times have changed. I have a couple myself but didn't get mine until I was 18. That is a parenting conversation not a school or coach issue unless the tattoo is somehow offensive. I can tell you they are not as cool looking at 38.

We talked about Javeon a lot yesterday. He has been a real work horse and if Washington is getting to the playoffs it will have a lot to do with how well he runs.

Bonner is in the same boat as Wyandotte. A lot of talent individually that needs to now step up. Twins and Dotson should have eyes on being the best 3 guard tandem in the league. Dotson specifically and I have told him this has to believe he is good and just play. No thinking just play.

I think he was honest. You will lose credibility with everyone if you sugar coat things. He wants the best out of his guys and if some players are going to get a haircut instead of coming to practice or not doing their work in the classroom then what should he say? I really believe he takes his job damn serious and being a coach in the city is not easy.
