I agree with whoever said that They are more skilled than the Murphy twins Wilhelmina it comes to basketball by far. But athleteticly it will come eventually they at least don't give up. And that's the thing about them... THEY LOVE THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. You can't teach that or coach it. I like the

Whoever said that about the bonner twins is an idiot. They are closer to the Murphys than most people think. They are more skilled than the Murphys ever thought about being

You are going a bit farther the other way. They should play football as well. I thought they were fine for sophomores. I haven't seen them later in this year. I need to do a Bonner game.

KVL all stars?

like last year in the kcal this is going to be an ugly discussion. each squad gets a spot. Berry, Brull, Jackson, I need to see who a senior is on mill valley with Wyatt gone. six spots left. Grizzle or Ford. five spots for three damn good teams and a lot of players. Long, Jennings, Younger, McNabb, Downing, Schneider, Bailey, Jackson. Its ugly. I don't know yet. The home stretch hopefully sees someone seperate themselves.

The only thing comparable to the Murphy twins and the bonner twins is the fact that they are twins... Whoever tries to remotely compare them deserves an award for being the most oblivious fan to sports ever.

That's harsh. Ryan and Collin should take it as a compliment that someone is aiming to be at their level. a sign of respect.

Do you feel like point guards don't get enough recognition for the things they do besides scoring? Jp downing at basehor helped guide a team to a state championship and is doing an outstanding job again this year but never gets mentioned

I like JP and you are right he doesn't get enough credit. I wouldn't say he led the state team. there was no specific point guard on the team. Downing is a winner and he is on a good team. maybe his value is his willingness to take a backseat.

Who do you plan on being on the kcal allstar team

Well there will be extra spots with Wyandotte not having a senior. Huntington, Carson, Wilson, McCullough, Barnett, Sykes, Bilberry, Bennett, maybe a bowens or Love as well. this is not official but off the top of the dome.

unbelievable game tonight tongi and basehor in 2 overtimes. grizzle made a living in the post and younger and mcnabb hit clutch shots down the stretch. basehor looks like a very dangerous team can't wait to see the lansing basehor rematch next week

Should be fun! Grizzle has been a beast the last few weeks.

You might keep an eye on Paulakovich and Barnhart this upcoming football season for Bishop Ward. That duo has great chemistry and could make some noise. Senior leadership will show from the two.

I will be watching. I hope they make it out to work outs.

Did Bonner Springs kicker signed?

Luciano has not signed. I know he has some offers to walk on but we are talking about a very intelligent young man. I think very highly of him and his ability to kick the football. If a team needs a kicker I highly recommend reaching out.

Keep an eye on him tonight#22 ward

I won't be at a game tonight but let me know how he does. I need to watch a ward game on film.

I'm from basehor and I know we usually beat tongie in basketball but I know we hate them and I know they hate us! Guarantee we beat them by 30 today

Well you would know better than me. :)

McNabb had 24 and Long had 23. Don't you think Long's shots came at more critical times in the game?

McNabb scored 24 in the second half and OT's. Long was clutch as usual. They both played well.

Who do you think will be offensive POY next year

For football Krystian Abbot or Colin McQuillian will make a run, Javeon Williams at Washington. Some unknowns out there but we will see.

That's embarrassing someone compared the bonnet twins to the Murphy's. Murphy's won two state championships and both scored over 1000 points in there careers.

Aim high!! Good for them that they know history and have high expectations but agree that it will be near impossible to replicate what they did.

Whos better.. Smith or Womach?

There are two questions here and it is important for me to distinguish the two. When we name a POY it is based on the season results and what they are have done this year. Better in terms of just raw skill I am going with Smith. Womack provides a ton of effort and scores well but skill level and the eye test are not there for me. Both are having good seasons.

Why do you think Haley White is so good? There was a lot of ballhogging in the game tonight, many opportunities to pass the ball.

Ballhogging is common in high school. I will be a bit honest that there are plenty of open players that just get seen so late. There are few girls I have seen with the type of anticipation and speed to play that smooth. Taylor Williams had it at Ward last year and I am going to prop this young lady up now and until she graduates. Jessica Wayne has "it". Haley is having a good season. I get updates after most games and there are many contributing but Haley's name comes up a lot. She knocked down 2 huge threes late in the game and free throws.

basehor seems like a team that is very hard to matchup with, if you double team muldoon or younger then mcnabb and downing can score in bunches and vice versa, I'm not a basehor fan but was at the game last night and watched the younger kid get face guarded most of the night but he still scored 17

Younger was solid and left it on the floor. Muldoon is a game changer and was a huge advantage being able to stretch out the bigs. Harper was in a tough spot trying to guard that far out. Basehor is good without question.

Thoughts on Mitchell Ballock?

I saw him very early in the season. Good combo with him and Downing. I am not sure if Andrew is back in the line up but Eudora has been playing well. I thought he was good. A lot of skill for a freshman. Playing out of position a bit in the game I saw but he is going to be fun to watch the next 3 years.

That was a great game by both teams and either team deserved to win, but how do you point out 2 missed FT's as an issue? If Long didn't hit that 3 the game would have been over. If Muldoon would have hit one more shot in regulation the game would have been over. Everyone played hard.

Everyone played a great game. We can probably point to a 100 different things in the game. I got focsed on the end to be honest. We have seen in two weeks in a row that missed FT's lead to opportunities. Rogers and Long and I am sure they will say the same thing had 4 1 for 2's that. Luke knows I think highly of him but you are correct. Effort was not an issue and it was a great game.

Who gets the MVP tonight?

We didn't do a post game interview because we were right at 2:00 hours. I get I could have interviewed and posted but it was late as well. Muldoon was a lock till he fouled out. I myself would go with McNabb. His second half and OT's could be a nice highlight for itself. I go McNabb. I can't wait to watch this one.

Do you think tongie and basehor are heated rivals? Or bonner and basehor?

In basketball? Maybe one sided as Basehor has earned a sort of KU tag the last few years. They are the team everyone was gunning for.

Great game tonight, but you gotta admit the trash talking should be put to rest. Neither team dominated the other and one big star who was supposed to dominate fouled out just like he did last year against the same team. Pointing fingers is senseless in this great of a HS game. Evenly matched teams.

I am not hearing of any trash talk and there should be none. This is a game that all fans should say thank you to the coaches and most importantly the players. Shake hands and come back for the rematch and hope we get a third game.
