winning state is not easy. having one of the top players in the area certainly doesn't help. they have enough students that they should be able to develop and compete.

Downing is a good player. He has done a lot of great things but starting at PG for a team doesn't make you the best at a position. I have gotten a ton of questions about this topic this year. He has been steady as a rock for his entire career at Basehor-Linwood and I respect him greatly.
Washington vs. Lansing? Why?
Brutal. what a fasinating match up andbit could happen. pace of play would he good indicator because Lansing may make a mistake if they ran with Washington. I would pick Lansing but would be betting the rent.

Ehh. lets see how he does in college.

He is smooth and plays at another level. If he puts on some weight he can contribute at the next level.

Dotson has played well but was turning the ball over at a high clip. there were reasons but they are turnovers none the less. Koch can play.

They had an ok season. they have a young freshman who had some good moments. Bianca Ledesma will be an All Star for us.

That is a good question mainly because I don't know if there many consistent shot affecting blockers in the area. I would have to look.

They obviously have a shot but believe they will be starring at a game against Lansing in the second round.

We will name a first and second team. it won't just be kvl. It will be interesting what the coaches put together on that.

Ten man roster and each school gets one spot so yes some are going to get left off.
In the games I have gone to this year it is nice to see athletes like Brull, Younger, Long, and Schneider (and others) joking and talking on the court. It appears they have respect for each other regardless of all the negativity on social media. How is it they can handle all of that negativity?
They ignore it. I can't wait to see them on the same team!

Do you think the Piper games against Lansing and Basehor would have ended differently if there was ball pressure? Against Lansing, it looks as if Piper's players are setting up to take a charge and no one is defending the inbounds pass.
I don't think they are trying to take a charge rather just a choice not to guard the in bounds. I have no preference either way on that one. I am of the philosophy that as a defender to see man and ball. Now in the second OT you could make a case. if you put bigs on the block with specific instruction to not foul then McPherson would not be able to line up there. you force an outlet that you can face guard. all this is hind sight for me though. I am not sure I play it much different.
When does basehor's substate start?
I think the girls Thursday and boys Friday. I am guessing.

It's all good because it worked out. I guarantee, had it not, he would not be on any coaches favorite list for not executing the play that was drawn up. Sometimes it better to be lucky than good at any given moment.
I think we would have just gone to overtime. your point is noted.
Several people have said, from both sides and even impartial, that he stepped over. Regardless, things would be much different if he hadn't made that shot, especially if he wasn't following the play the coach drew up. Loose cannons can really hurt your chance at a state run.
I disagree. players that can think on their toes and make plays win games. coaches job is to create situations for players to take advantage of.
