Top 10 basketball players last season in the kcal and kvl in order
King, Schneider, Taylor, Younger, Carson, Stacy, Garvin, Voorhes, Long, Patton. Calvin Johnson would be up there as well. This question made my head hurt. Complete swag but this would be close.
Best girls basketball player in KCAL?
Arika Smith from Atchison. Solid player on both sides of the ball. Excellent from the line. Womack and Ledesma to challenge.

Joe Schneider or Chase Younger. I would think Schneider would give a bit more overall because he can run the point. Schneider perhaps the better defender. If I need 30 though I am calling Younger. I would need to think on this one. Good question.

Simple answer is Dominic McKinzy at corner. Gassman, Hunter, Gibbs, Xavier McKinzy all have a shot at big years.
Basehor-Linwood vs. Piper this year in basketball?
I like Piper in the match up but Basehor is going to win a lot of games this season shooting the 3. I really think that Piper is going to create a gross mismatch up front on the glass when they play small. Basehor could get a lot of minutes from 4 guards (McPherson, Younger, Downing, and McNabb). I think Piper will sport a very good front line with CJ Harper who has All SHUKC potential as a big. Dominique Jennings and Vince Eskina will be tough on the glass. If Piper gets out rebounded in any game they are being lazy.
Who do you look for to have a "breakout" year in the KVL (basketball)? And favorite player to watch in KVL?
Jack Dale (Tonganoxie) will start opening some eyes. He will be a sophomore this year and a preseason lock for the underclassmen team we will have with an outside shot at All SHUKC honors. I like watching Schneider, Long and Younger. I haven't seen a lot of Voorhes at Mill Valley. Evan Brull when he is moving off screens is good to watch as well. I don't like him having to play PG.
Basehor- Linwoord vs. Lansing basketball and football??
Football Lansing and basketball I think Basehor wins this year with Muldoon. Lansing will miss the two senior big men.
What are all the possible honors that you give in football?
We have a Top prospect award which is the player we feel will have the brightest college career. Typically it is a player with D1 potential. Offensive player of the year, defensive player of the year, game of the year, play of the year then a full offensive and defensive team. All decisions are made by those associated with SHUKC and all decisions are final.
Any bball gyms you know of in the kck area that keep there doors open for players?
Bethany and JFK although I don't know when have open gyms. I keep saying this but I may start looking to find a means to host a pick up game in KCK.
Who were the best all around scorer/shot creator in KVL last year? Top 3?
This is an interesting question because shot creator and scorer are two different things. There are a couple of players that I think didn't shoot nearly enough Joe Schneider being top of the list. He had a great season but he should average 20 a game. Austen Twombley is a natural scorer and can get his on his own. Nathan Stacy was good as well as Luke Long. Chase Younger however is top of the list for me. I just think he has a killers mentality.

I do anticipate attending some JUCO games this year. I am fans of the players that are moving on to play there. I will look this one up and look to attend.

When he is giving max effort he was worth coming to see last year. The first two years he has shown flashes of brilliance. I think it is a requirement for him to unlock that every game meaning we should all be looking to go watch him play this year. He has been on our underclassmen team twice so I am very optimistic he takes the step forward.
Basehor Linwood boys and girls basketball??
The boys team will have the best guard combination in the city on the boys side. The girls have a big void to fill with leading scorer Jamie Johnson graduating. I am a lot more optimisitic on the boys side than the girls.
Freshman preview?
I don't follow freshman teams. We do have underclassmen awards so any freshman getting varsity time could get that honor.
Do you know what position Anthony Kubas of Bonner will be playing? he has shown himself to be an outstanding athlete in track and in agility drills. Maybe a surprise player?
He had a break out game at safety against piper with too picks. He narrowly missed a third. Best case would see him play receiver but aslin used him like Joe Dooley a few years ago. One of the top triple jumpers in the city so yes a very good athlete.

Yes, I have had the pleasure of doing individual highlights for some of the top players the last few years. I chrge $150 for a five minute highlight. I also help with the recruiting process and available for all questions.

I don't remember. I chatted with him several times about the junior showcase. He will be a senior this year.
FHow would you thoughts change if Atchison were to knock of wyandotte, tongie and piper?
First I would pick my jaw off the ground. Then I would think Atchison has a chance to make a run in the playoffs.
