Don't they have the best bigman in the league that transferred there this year? And I feel Jahron McPherson will be elite in the KVL

Muldoon started last year but I would not say they have the best big in the league. Harper will have at least 30 pounds on him. Basehor has the best set of guards by far. they will have a shooters chance every night.

KVL will go like this... Blhs, mvhs, tongie, Lansing, piper, bwhs, bshs, turner.

why are you such a piper homer?

I didn't know that I was. Pretty sure I have picked against Piper a number of times this year. I have no ties to the school at all. I am a Schlagle grad.

are you still going to be the radio show with football players is so who's next

I will start mixing in some basketball but will still have guests for football as the playoffs move on. we have Megan wooley coming in this week so not sure. we will see who is alive.

what do you think about Luciano Fasani performance and his future?

I have been pretty vocal that he had a good year. The kid at Mill Valley also had a good season but Fasani minus 1 extra point was perfect. I will have to double check. Options are wide open for this young man because he handles business in the classroom. The second I heard his ACT score I was thinking he could improve on it enough to get academic scholarships and possibly walk on at a school. Prove himself and then get a scholarship. He could work himself onto a D1 school. He should be reaching out to schools and being open to walking on at a big time school.

Needs to get his speed up a bit. I don't know if he is reaching out to schools, his act scores, gpa and such. It is a 3 phase discussion for college football.

I don't know that he has the speed to be one of the best in the state. You have to be pushing 2k in a year to get that type of status. Playing on both sides of the ball the way he does I don't see that as possible.

Who is someone your excited to see play this year in the KVL

Vince Eskina. I honestly have seen Wyatt Vorhees. I want to see Basehor to see how Muldoon is going to do. I want to see this foreign exchange kid from Bishop Ward as well. It is going to be a great year!

Predictions for bonner?

Basketball? They will be young with the exception of Jordan. We will see how Dotson brothers do and Adams. Middle of the KVL.

As far as recruiting, what's the best way to get your name out there? Letters? Videos? Footage?

First and foremost you need to be producing on the field and in the classroom. You need your house in order by making sure you are done with the clearinghouse. http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.jsp if you are a senior and haven't done this you are shooting yourself in the foot big time. Footage is a must you need to send emails and letters to schools with your footage. Your footage should be clean. No music and cut the plays down as much as possible. For QB's for example I get in a mode of cutting the film as soon as the catch is made. Who cares that he ran 50 yards. Lets get back to me throwing to someone else. This is the time to be 100% selfish and focus on what you did on the field and your film is all about you. There are hundreds of schools and you should reach out to many. Do a google search for Kansas Athletic Department - find the "staff directory" and then find the recruiting coordinator. Email him your information and then hit another school. This is your first job search. your film is your resume.

Final thoughts on Jordy's career?

I thought he really took a huge step forward as a leader this year by being willing to take a step back. I thought his Junior year the team and himself a bit depended on him too much. Mason and Knernshield injuries didn't help but at least at the front of the year they really had it going. I have a world of respect for him. I have made that very clear to him as well.

Preseason KVl league champion prediction in boys and girls basketball?

The girls side is a little scary to pick because I don't know what Mill Valley has returning. They are likely to be strong again. I also do not know when Jessica Wayne is expected to come back for Piper. Basehor will have some returning seniors including Amber Garver. Piper has a lot coming back. Haley White, Tori Webb, Megan Wooley etc but again don't know when Wayne gets back. Will defer on a girls pick. Boys I am rolling with Piper. That front line is going to match up well again anyone. Eskina could break out in his senior season to go along with Jennings and Harper. That is leaving out two good guards in Long and Owens. Basehor is going to be very good and Muldoon being added to the mix only makes them stronger. They will have a shooters chance every night. I will say they have the best 4 guard combo in our area with McPherson, Younger, McNabb, Downing. Joe Schneider and Lansing will challenge as well. This is going to be a great basketball season in the KVL.

since the season is over was williams all you thought he was going to be

I said before the season that he would have a good season. I want to see much more though. he still has upside.

I think the Jags averaged about 25 yards a carry last night. I got it one great player, but a whole team? What an amazing job by that line, and aside from Applegate they weren't really that big, just tough, aggressive, and dominant! Make some noise next week and prove you are one of the best in KS.

What are your thoughts on Mill Valley going into the playoffs?

Well equipped on the line and defense to make some noise in the playoffs. I mention it in the interview with Coach Applebee that you can see tomorrow after the game. This is must win for Mill Valley at home next week against Aquinas. I am probably coming to this game because it is that important. An undefeated squad in the KVL has to make a run now in the post season. I really like what I saw but I said it during the game. They won't see a Lansing defense again the rest of the season. Those run through tackles will not likely be there next week. so the focus should be on execution tonight instead of just treating it like a scrimmage. I am cheering for them. I like this team!
