What expectation do you have for Washington?
This is the game last year that Washington got on track. They have played 2 good teams and need to show up tomorrow against Atchison. I picked them to win so I expect a solid attack on the ground and Steve Peoples to show well up front on defense.
I was told you also have been covering some games looking at not only athletes, but student involvement. We are in the process of resurrecting Pep Club at Sumner and have extended the branch to Schlagle to BLUE OUT the stands on Sept 27@ Wyandotte. Would be great to see some shots of the sideline
Yes. I met with a group of seniors last year at Sumner. I want desperately to see student sections in KCK. They named the section the Light Sabres https://www.facebook.com/#!/TheLightSabres I am also going to be helping with a booster club at Schlagle which will hopefully promote the Pep club. All great initiatves. We are broadcasting the Schlagle vs Wyandotte game so I hope we get a huge crowd and we will spotlight it durng the broadcast. lets go!!

Sumner's fullback. Does he seem dominant to you or just another player?
Didn't really think to look but just rewatched the plays I pulled for the highlight and he sprung at least two of the big runs. 5-9 205 as a sophomore is good size for the position as long as he continues to put on good weight. I would like another inch or so height wise. Sion Midgyett #34. I will keep an eye on him this season but I like what I saw. Not afraid to hit.
Is your 3v3 just for experienced players? Or people that just want to have fun too?
I am thinking about that and everything will be based off the number of teams that enter. I will split up for fun and for competition. I think the competitive people are rallying around the idea the most right now but if we get enough teams that just want to play for fun I will be happy to do that. Its a community event so if I can mix some fun in with good competition then we all win.

I just don't see much positive for Bishop Ward. Bonner's front 7 will be a complete handful. Once they start doubling dumler they will start to blitz. The triple threat at Bonner will continue to roll.
What does Bishop Ward have up front on there o-line? Can they slow down Bonner's 3 man rush?

everyone knows that you think tongie will win the kvl due to the large amount of seniors. but what makes these seniors different than the other senior classes in the kvl? core seniors? senior leaders? seniors that can play at a college level?
I will basically continue with what I was talking about with Beebe and Eikenbary. This is a large number of seniors that have "experience". There is "accountability" on this team among the seniors. When you see Cole Holloway sprinting down the field to make a block you have something brewing. Everyone sees that and feeds off of it. If there are seniors doing this in position groups then again it rubs off. If you have more experienced players doing the right things then you will have less mistakes and that is a huge key at this level. Ford not turning the ball over is also a huge plus.

Was Piper overrated coming into this FB season? And are Eikenbary and Beebe just average playerps that have been over hyped?
You have to keep in mind how much of a team sport that football is. Beebe and Eikenbary can do their parts very well but still suffer team wise if not everyone can do their job at a high level. I am not sure who over hyped them. They will improve as the season goes on and players start to figure things out.
What players do you wanna see in the 3v3 tournament?
Chase Younger, Derek Sykes, Nunnally, Long, Harper, Dotson brothers. I honestly want to see every school I cover represented. Come out and compete and have a good time. Everybody!
I follow AAU bball and from what I know that kid on Joe's team plays on one of the Mokan Elite teams and just moved to KC and someone was telling me they saw on his Instagram he's getting interest from Notre Dame. Should be a crazy good team if this is all true

Swoope and Schneider was who I was talking about. He was very impressive in the tournament and last year overall as well.

Do you follow any volleyball?
We presented some awards last year. Jannette Madlock from Bonner helped me as her credentials are very good. She saw most of the schools we cover and was able to point me in the right direction. I am no expert on the sport at all. I did watch my niece for a few years. Send me some dates and I will work on attending a match.
What do you think of lansings defense being so young?
Are they young? I haven't seen a roster or break down. There are some seniors on the defense as well. I would have to research it a bit. I haven't seen the stats from this week so I can't really analyze. Young or not they have to figure out something fast. The defense is getting creamed.
Does Dai Coye Haley have D1 potential?
I have been seeing Dai Coye getting some reps at the varsity level. If he stays hungry for the next 4 years I can see it. He has the size and motor but can he put it all together is the question. Solid diet, workout, grades. You need everything to even be considered. I am cheering for him. I was real impressed at our workouts.
do you think Williams is D1 material?
Potential yes. I will get a good look this week at Washington. Spotlight game! I better see him at Chick-fil-A after the game too!

Injuries are going to hurt if these starters aren't playing. Next man up. We will see if Bennie Smith is ready to shoulder a load.
Not saying they will win the KVL but Tongie has 4 starters back on the basketball team and lost only one other senior that played real minutes. Do you think they will be a under the radar team that could surprise a few people?
Will depend on how much Jack Dale has improved. KVL is going to be nutty this year with the amount of talent returning. They may win some games though. We will see.
Do you think Mr.Peoples is D1 material?
I will need to think on this one for a bit. I don't believe he is big enough today to play tackle although he has a year and a half before he graduates. I wouldn't recommend putting on weight just for the sake of doing it either. He can manhandle at this level but at the next level saying he would just be able get guards out of the way would be a challenge at his current size. He is a bit short to play DE at that level and I will have to see about his quickness. He doesn't strike me as a rush end but again we will see Friday. Its possible if he works like a mad man in the weight room. If you are not going to grow in terms of height you can certainly get stronger and maybe put on a few more good lbs. We will see, I certainly won't make that call after following for 3 games and not having seen a full game.
