I wish they could have knocked down a few free throws at the end. but some excitment at least.

What do you think of a Class 4A-1 Championship game between Basehor and Miege? Even though Miege's record is worst they played in a tougher league. I saw Miege play in person once and on TV once and they have the size and speed to match up with BL. Both have great coaches so should be good game.
Yeah Miege has Vernon and my old coach Minor on the sideline. That would be a great matchup. Vernon mentioned he thought Basehor won the coin toss getting in the bottom of the bracket with Ottawa who Basehor already beat. What I don't know is if they had any early injuries because Piper beat them too on the road. Miege is not a 4A school and they won a league with mostly 5A and 6A schools in football and basketball so yes it will be a great game if it works out that way.

Not all teams. Sumner, Atchison, Schlagle and then little to nothing. This needs to improve. Hard to reward stand outs without numbers.

I want to say Shai is getting recruited by a JUCO here in Kansas. She has a very high IQ and skill set. Come check her out at the All Star game. She should get a shot somewhere.

I have the names on my sheet just muddling through the order. Stats are hard to find for KCAL girls especially for Wyandotte and Harmon.
Find it funny that you picked Trevor young over Carson Fliger. You always talk about how the wins need to be up there to be better than a certain person, and Fliger was 2-0 against young this year. Besides that, he's just better
This is part of the reason why I took so long. Fliger has been very good the last few weeks but most of this season he has been quiet. Basehor was 2-0 against Lansing. Not Fliger against Young. One of my coaches turned me on to an efficiency rating model that went into a lot of decisions I made this year.
Who is #22 for Washington? Love his game.
I am off the top of my dome but if you love his game I am guessing Demarco Smith. That kid was dropping dimes Saturday for sure. Bigs need to have their hands ready because he can handle and dish.

I have a guy on my team that is grossly intelligent. Has a masters in chemistry or something like that but is very proficient Unix administrator.
What are your thoughts on Maclin coming to KC and Hali restructuring his deal?
Hali to me hasn't been all that great since they went to a 3-4. They drafted Dee Ford to replace him just like they drafted Fisher to replace the left tackle whose name is escaping me. The Maclin deal is huge to me and I am hopeful Bowe restructures. He isn't going to get any more on the open market but would make a nice number 2 or you can cut him out right and draft at least 2 receivers. This is going to be a deep receiver group. I wouldn't mind getting the kid White from West Virginia. No excuses for Alex Smith now with Maclin.
Final thoughts on Lansing this year? Boys and girls?
Losing another set of seniors this year for the boys. We will have to see how much the younger players improve including Sam Lorenzen. He will have to be able to create off the dribble and be a star next year. Some nice pieces returning for the ladies. Lansing will be represented well in the All Star game.

Thoughts on William Jefferson game against Lansing?
He was a man yesterday for Washington. If he can do go that hard 3 more games he will have a chance to help win a state title.
One name to watch for next season in football and basketball...Jalen Douglas. He is a beast and with a little discipline will be one of the best multi-sport athletes in the KC area.
He did ok this year at receiver. Quiet in basketball but that would be good to see him step up.
Mill Valley gets Maize South in the first round at state. Predictions on game and do you know anything about South?
I know that I saw Maize South last year in Topeka so they are likely back and improved. I haven't seen them so I wouldn't dream of trying to predict. State is about showing up and playing as hard as you can.

Yes I do. I am very optimistic. Two solid bigs and one of the top point guards in the state. Yes they can and should believe they will.
Thoughts on Washington and Lansing game?
Lansing's game plan was sound. Washington however didnt settle for jump shots. Washington played very well. Few teams would have beat them today. Jefferson is going to be let for them next week.

Thoughts about last night call on Samia Roark at the free throw line? And the tech on number 50? I think the refs stole the game for coach Allen and the lady Sabres
I posted my thoughts on that at www.shukc.com last night. A travesty. The bigger travesty is that Sumner didn't come out and play for 2 and a half quarters. Two bad calls isn't the only reason Sumner lost. tongie out played them.
Lansing vs Washington
Washington has not been playing great lately but Lansing has shown flashes of inconsistency all year. This is going to be a good game. I give Washington the edge at home.

I am not sure how you pick against Basehor. I am putting a little added pressure on my friend Morris Letcher. He came from Sumner were they were able to solve the Basehor equation a few times. Does he have a few tricks up his sleeve to get it done tomorrow?
