They need to close the soup kitchen they have open right now. They don't need to do a help of a lot either. The offense has weapons in Abbott and Bailey that are producing. A hint of defense could turn it around.

Top to bottom I still say tongie. I won't back down on my insistance that a collection of seniors like this can do special things.

Koch is a tough kid, but best offensive player? Maybe one of the best running QBs...Put Berry behind his line and it's lights out.
Numbers don't lie. I obviously have a lot of respect for Paul as we named him our POY. those award however require you to have a good line. If it is just the line then Koch wouldn't be getting 41 carries in a game. He has been efficient throwing as well. Production rules.
How do you think sumner will do against wyandotte next week?
I will share my prediction later this week. I want to watch the spring hill game. Pretty sure they are an option team which is a contrast to what wyandotte will want to do. I will say now I don't have much optimism sumner can stop wyandotte.
I honestly think you are too high on tongie. Wait until they play Mill Valley and Piper. I bet they lose to at least one, if not both of them. Pipers defense is too good. And Mill Valley is always tough.
Next two weeks. I believe in this group of seniors. I won't tip my hand on either game but you statements are fair. This will be a fun couple of weeks for them as they will have a strangle hold on the league if they get two wins.

I don't think so. Mill valley and tongie will be tough. Bonner will be a tough hill to climb this year as well.

Which QB has it worse, Berry from Turner or Abbott from Lansing? Both seem to be running for their lives, but Lansing seems to have better skill players to help out.
Berry and it is not even close.

what did you think of tongie's new offensive packages?
I thought it was awesome to just show that formation. To have it be successful and get some early yards gives defenses another thing to think about. We need a nick name besides the wildcat.
How can you continue to defend Salsgiver? They lost to Topeka West two years in a row?
Topeka West is 2-0 now on the season. Sure that was their only win of the season last year but who knows what they will be this season. It isn't a matter of defending but a matter of a silly expectation that simply walking in the door results in wins. This again his second season and some improvements were made from a team just a year prior that had 25 or 30 kids standing on the side line. The coach forced kids to quit and your first job as a coach at a 5A school is to recruit and bring players back on the field? I know people want instant gratification but I am not following your logic at all. Understand where you were just two seasons ago. I defy you to name me any coach that just walks in the door and wins in that situation. I don't see Phil Jackson running to Charlotte to take over the Bobcats.
Were you impressed by the fight Basehor gave piper last night. Defense played well and they gave themselves a shot to win the game.
Absolutely and hopefully I showed that in my call of the game. A lot of character on this team and I was very proud of the effort.
When Salsgiver gets fired at Washington for not winning enough games who do you think replaces him?
Seriously?? The program was at rock bottom when he took over. He is just in his second year trying to rebuild from that. I really can't take this question seriously.
Do you think Marvin Bowens is the front runner at FB for the award ceremony?
He won last year but I have to be clear that last year means little for our awards. You have to bring it the following year to be invited back. He is off to a great start to the season. Again until I see full game footage I have to reserve judgement. Show me a 90 yard run and I have to say wow but if 3 plays later a block was missed a ball fumbled then we have a problem. We are early but he is performing well.
Who has impressed you the most defensively from USD 500?
Let me watch the film from this week then I will decide. I have only seen a full game from Sumner so far.
Best defensive players so far this year?
Dumler, Beebe, Chaney, Richards stick out to me as top tier. Imagine a D Line with Chaney and Dumler. Wow.

I have gotten asked about this a few times. Again I have only seen highlights. Ask me next week after I get to see a full game. I am sure we see in the highlights him doing good things but it will be how he performs over the course of the whole game.
