I did something special today. I was at Walmart and I overheard a woman talking on her phone, she was crying. She said without another $50 she would get kicked out of her apartment. I gave her $50 and she cried tears of happiness and thanked me. Have you ever done something nice for someone?

Yeah I dedicate many hours promoting area athletes in hopes of seeing them succeed at this level and hopefully the college level.

What has made Atchison so successful this year?

A young crop of dedicated players. They have a very good and young nucleus.

Basehor-Piper will be a good game. Both teams will be 5-1, although Basehor got blown out against Bonner they have proved it might have been nothing more than a bad game by beating Eudora. Who do you have winning?

I will pick Piper. I think it will boil down to there being a wider gap between the Piper defense and Basehor offense than Basehors d against Pipers O. I would guess 14-7 game for Piper. Not a lot of scoring.

Top o lineman in kvl yet?

For lineman i have a small process I follow. It is hard but I chexk the teams that move the ball on the ground or via the pass. Film and coach input. We all know Applegate and Hecht but will have to see. bonner, Washington, Atchison no doubt will get looks.

Top 5 Defensive Players in the KVL?

Beebe, McPherson, Oneal, Pahls. And maybe someone i see at Mill Valley tomorrow. First live look.

KVL is definitely down in talent this year across the board?

I would have to think about this but think I disagree. A bit more balanced this year.

That comment about your journalism is worthless! You are just getting kids' names out there, you never claimed to be a world renowned journalist! Rather than wasting time criticizing, why don't people get off their butts and spend the time and effort you do to promote our kids! Just stupid!

I was a smart ass in a response and got that response. I again have thick skin. Clearly my writing skills are just above worthless.

Which coach impresses you the most that you cover in basketball? Boys and girls?

It was a bumpy beginning because of some assumptions but Dave Gonzales has been a lot of fun to talk to. Briggs is great. Mcbride is another I find to be good to talk with. Torrence Allen is good too. Eric King. Hell all of them are good.

How would turners defense be without Ryan Oneal

If you take the leading tackler off any defense it would suffer.

What all these anonymous people are saying to you is a big reason why nick Sloan doesn't do it anymore. Everyone just wants to have their name be the biggest and get mad if any other school gets more credit than them

Nick did care a bit about some of the comments made. Most dont know some of the threats that came with it. I dont much care about either. I find what I do to be fun and interaction with positive and negative people is what sports are about. The comments before were not far off. I could filter more than I do. I am more of a Phil Donohue though more than Jerry Springer. I am not trying to make people fight. :)

I would guess the Springer comment is as worthless as your journalism, but I guess we can agree to disagree. Just keep the promoting piece and don't forget why you started doing this.

I agree on the journalism. I do the best I can on that stuff but agree it could be a lot better. Promote and educate without sugar coating is always the goal for me.

Agree the hatred and jealousy should stop, and guess what, you control it. Don't answer that cap and promote it. Let it go and quit trying to take Jerry Springer ' s job. Let's get back to promoting the kids positively. Only you control what you answer and broadcast. Don't get suckered in.

I don't filter much of what is asked unless it is offensive. Hate and jealousy is common and something worth discussing. Having players see and hear some of the hate will help prepare them for facing it. So I hear you but there are teaching moments in this as well. Like your Jerry Springer comment is pretty worthless but I will ignore that.

If Beebe went to a losing school would he be talked about as much? Just an example of my main question. How come talent isn't really recognized in schools with losing records? Like there is talent everywhere but those players are slept on because they don't go out and win or play big name schools.

Yeah the stars do have to align. If you are a RB then you do need a line. I don't see a way around that.

Beats the hell out of me. They should be thanking for getting recruiters at the game with an opportunity to show out. Getting a division 1 player at your school is great for team mates and opponents. Its natural to hate though more than promote. Shameful some don't see the big picture.
