What's the best finish Mill Valley has had in football?
I only really started watching this year. They got one deep before running into the eventual champions for 5A.

5A Lansing defeated...5A Shawnee Heights, Topeka Seaman, Mill Valley (2), Schlagle, Turner (2), and Top Class Missouri teams Rockhurst and Blue Springs South. Not to mention the Kansas Bball Coaches Assoc rankings in 4A, #2 ranked Basehor (2) and #4 ranked Piper (2). Solid resume !!! Beemolo.

How did Lansing earn it? Theyre just like mill valley in football, they beat up and 4a teams from the area then can never end up winning the whole thing.
I am not on board with saying the class discussion applies in basketball because you honestly need five or six good ones and maybe only 2 or 3 need to be great. The state champion sumner teams were good enough to defy that as they could play with 6a teams. Lansing has caught lightning in a bottle with this group and hopefully they do get a title. they are plenty good enough. Piper and Basehor would be in the conversation of top 5a schools. They beat at least half to two thirds of 5a schools. I think Lansing has played in Leavenworth and one of the top Missouri teams. You are being short sighted if you say their schedule was not strong.

lansing fans already getting nervous? shouldn't matter who you play when you consider your the team the best in 5a will have to play highland park sometime so just get it over with.
Still say people are sleeping on Eisenhower. hearing witchita east is another contender.
That's the most ignorant question I've ever heard. Basehor and sumner were the two best teams in 4A for three or four years and they were in the substate. Why would they change the rules because people think that Lansing played a harder schedule? If they played a harder schedule they should have not
These types of situations happen all the time in terms of coin flips. a coin slip may occur in a 4-5 game in 5a that helps a team avoid a 1 seed. So. it is a part of it. I agree with all except the ignorant part. Its not even in the top 10. :)
I don't see how it's fair to screw Lansing outta the possible 1seed if both hays and Lansing finish the season undefeated. With a coin flip. Lansing has played much better teams inmy opinion and they could be paired with highland park in a second round match up when thatshould be a title game. Fair?
It would be work to make it fair and the way the 4a substate works they certainly are not going to do that. that would be a bad coin flip to lose. you were going to play them one way or the other. lets get there first.
lansing is undefeated but they are very beatable. don't see them winning 5 more they will lose and not win state. write it down.

Do think there is a chance Basehor or Piper can be upset by Tongie or Atchison? I can see both teams looking past their Friday game. Do you plan to attend any games Friday or Saturday?
Yes I plan to come watch. Yes it is possible but I would be very surprised if they lost the first one.
Just listened to the last sports pass. I'm confused to why Vernon thinks Washington could hang with Lansing. Washington's most impressive game is a 6 point loss to Lawrence. They only have one win against a team over .500! Lansing has 11. Lansing is battle tested and better.
Early in the season Washington for one reason or another didn't have their full squad. they have so.e legit bigs and have been scoring the ball. your point is very valid though. when a team can score like that they are a threat to anyone.

Do you have highlights for the KCAL AllStar Team?
I always tend to do the easy ones first. I do plan to try but film is not as easily accessible as it is in the boys KVL. I would say I have access to zero film for the KVL girls. KCAL girls I do but will against take time. Most use Hudl which is god awful for stuff like that. I will though, it just may take some time.
Just listened to your show. Why do you think Vernon and Coach Mo are picking Piper now, especially since they give you so much grief for it?
I think despite the loss Piper got some momentum. It is damn hard to beat the same team 3 times in one year. Who am I kidding? I can't get in their heads.
Any prediction for when the All-Star game will be?

Lansing has a good starting five but I doubt they beat the kvl team. especially since two players are on the team.

Would you agree Joe Lendway is probably the best big in the KVL behind Muldoon and Grizzle? Quite a few double doubles and probably shooting better than 60% from the floor.
There are not many true bogs but he plays the part well. He plays a traditional center role and could he the best in that role. Muldoon is a swing forward.
Must have been a tough decision leaving the third leading scorer in the KVL off the all-star roster with Zach Jackson. In my opinion he should have taken the spot over the extra piper player, but I understand not filling the extra two spots both with Lansing guys. Just shows league depth.
And the number of guards. I could have easily filled the team with 10 guards but want some size on the team. KCAL will have some length. There are a couple of more that were thought of. Lendway as well.

Kshsaa doesn't allow it. you have to be a senior to participate. few more years it will be your time.

I can't wait to see that KVL squad play together! A lot of guys on that squad who understand the game and are smart about it. Mass and clutch scoring potential! Who do you anticipate playing PG?
I need to get confirmation that all will be playing. Schneider, Long, Younger can all bring the ball up court. I am not concerned at all about ball handling with this team.
