What do u think about Tongie basketball this year?
I am looking forward to what jack Dale can do in year two. Not sure what he did over the summer but I really liked his game. I don't expect much honestly. Extremely tough league they are in.

How do you feel about Basehor?
I want to watch the game before I go into next weeks game. I am hype for it now. Piper will be pissed just like last season. Basehor will come in flying high off an opening win. Should be a fun game. Not sure we will see 90 points though.

How do you feel about bonners o-line now?
I am impressed. I don't have the roster in front of me but there is a very big 300+ guy on the line. I highlighted him on the broadcast. Wessel, Carter and company dominated.
What kind of sponsorship would you need to start covering soccer or volleyball games?
I would need time not sponsorship. I think a good first step would be to encourage these games to be filmed. I would be willing to watch but with a job and kids it is hard to have the time to do that much.

Even though you weren't at the game tonight what do you expect from Piper's defense?
I will watch the film. That is a tough way to lose a game on a reverse like that. I haven't seen the play yet but that really sucks. I don't know yet but trust I will watch to prepare for next week. Just think Piper fans you are right on track with last year.
You need to keep an eye on Sterling Owens number 27 on the Piper High School football team. He did work tonight and expected to have a great season!
I will have to take a look. Owens won a power lifting competition at Basehor last year. I am looking forward to see him next week.

I am high on another run to a state trip. KVL is going to be one of the best leagues in the state for basketball. I think Piper plays a little different this year. I am anxious to see what Coach Wallace has in mind.

I will be honest that I haven't watched him specifically. most of the things I have heard are hear say. He does get a good endorsement from someone that I respect. We will see how he does. All accounts I have would be that he makes a big contribution for them.

You have to be able to write just a little better than me. Have a solid opinion and passion for what you are writing about. I just want multiple opinions on the site. I really like his personality. Well spoken and is coming off a huge year last year. We will see how he does coming off the knee injury. If he has another big year Atchison may challenge for league and will make the playoffs.
I have a few questions about your job, if you don't mind. How would somebody get into sports journalism? How did you get started covering high school sports?
Great question. First this is by no means a job. If I looked at what I did as work I wouldn't do it. I am actually an IT manger at Sprint. A lot of my IT translated over to this. Time and passion is all you need coupled with some sports knowledge. All my efforts spawn from Vernon Vaughn who is my younger cousin. Thus concept just kept evolving. If you have a desire hit me up. I want contributors.
Who you got for the Tonganoxie - Lansing game this week?
Tonganoxie. You will find I follow my rankings in picking games. It would be foolish for me to pick Tonganoxie to win the league and then say they are losing week 1 at home in league. I am dumb but not that dumb.
What do you think of Bonner's O-Line? I hate to say it, but besides Les Wessel, I think we look a little rough to be honest.
I don't know. Yes Wessel is a given but I found it odd to see Dumler stay on defense. Easily the best offensive lineman on the team. I get having him focus. I haven't watched much practice but they got blown up at the scrimmage. One point I saw them triple team Dumler. Wessel is a good foundation. We will see how they do Friday.
