Does Lansing have a chance against Bonnor Springs?

Without Byers I would say they would be a dog. without sure they can win if they get that running attack going.

What did you think about Bonners come back yesterday?

It was sick. They are a well prepared team to say the least. To play like that in the first half and storm back is again damn impressive. kudos to the Braves.

Leeroi Johnson D1 Bound by senior year? He's the fastest kid on the Tonganoxie squad I heard

At current position I am not as concerned about speed as genetics. I haven't met or seen his parents to know if he has a few more inches in him to grow into D1 "sized" player at D end or offensive line. Lets let him enjoy his Sophomore season.

Does Tongie have a shot at winning this Lansing game? Will you be there? A lot of people seem pretty hyped about it Tongie is defiantly a head turner so far a lot better than expected, nobody should overlook them

I won't be there this week. I am probably headed to Schlagle vs Wyandotte or Bonner Springs vs Basehor. Yes they have a shot to win.

Best overall male and female athlete that you have covered in the KVL over your years?

I get this every year. Whitledge at Tongie hands down. She is a phenominal athlete. Boys is tougher. Beebe would likely be my choice.

Your thoughts on the Mill Valley/ Derby game on Friday. Do you think Mill Valley can win this game?

They are at home and a tough test for sure. i wont say what this team cant do. if they play hard and execute then sure they can win.

Do you think the Tonganoxie Defense will be able to shut down McQuillan, Wilkes, and Douglas? Those seem like the big names to me, anyone else I'm missing that could trouble the Defense for Tongie? Maybe Ray? Your thoughts?

If that is all they have to do is focus on the run it is possible. Turner moved the ball on the ground a bit. i think Lansing is more physical. mcquillan is a handful for anyone. it will be a good game.

What about Noah Alexander, Xavier De La Torre, Juwan Peace ?

Sumners Leonard Green ran wild against them and then Ottawa with the big win. So not sure.

Who are your top 10 DE so far in the KVL ?

I havent personally seen 10 of them yet. I know about Josh Adams at Bonner, LeeRoi Brown at Tongie, Anthony Brown at Mill Valley.

Any young/new offensive players sticking out to you early in the season?

The breakout if the young playmakers at Tonganoxie has been a surprise. Most other standouts so far were expected.

Lansing or Tongie on Friday. Who you got??

This should be an interesting game. Lansing is about as one dimensional as it gets right now. Tonganoxie overwhelmed Turner who just got hit in the mouth and gut punched with the early interception and two straight onside kicks. I wont pick just yet but this is an intriguing game.

Ward has 45 out this year, 20 seniors, that may not compare to some of the bigger schools, but with that much leadership and experience could you see a .500 season?

I would be thrilled with a couple of wins. Those are intriguing numbers though. ready to see what Jordan Mitchell can do under center.

Ward has a lot of team speed and players at skill positions that can make plays, do you think it's safe to say don't rule out Ward for being a sleeper in the KVL this year?

I will be honest I don't know what to expect from Ward. The safe assumption will be limited numbers and some skilled players in spots but not enough to break through and beat the bigger KVL teams. Ward hasn't won a league game in a very long time if I recall correctly. They have a shot against Tongie and Turner.

Lansing is moving into its second year under Coach McCall, what do you expect from the lions this year?

I dont have any type of high expectations for Lansing. I think the building process really gets started this year. I am looking forward to seeing Wilkes at RB and McQuillan. We will learn a lot week one against Piper.

Any key players for Tonganoxie that you know of this year?

off the top of my head I cant. Interesting year for Tongie. i think the year they had last year had to be expected with all the seniors that graduated the year before. The question is if there is another crop of kids coming up now to start turning the corner.
