What do you think of Bonners LB Preston Pyles after 3 weeks?

It is very hard to catch defensive numbers on bonnets film. So far away but I like his size and quickness against turner. We will get another look at him this week against piper.

I saw Hattok is listed on Lansing's roster as a 6'6, 260 pound sophomore. He is actually a junior left tackle, and probably the best lineman at Lansing. He is a big with a lot of potential, playing both ways quite a bit. While the line is not doing great, they are getting better each game!

I will keep an eye out for him when I watch the game.

What do you think of Scott Hattok from Lansing?

Sophomore OL and DL. I am not sure if he is getting playing time but he may be a part of the line. They are struggling as a unit but there is nothing like a win to make everything better.

How would you handle basehors o line situation? The backs they were trying to run had absolutely no where to go and even as powerful of a runner as Phillips is, even he was getting stacked up for almost no gain all year. I'm not saying they win, but with the way I have seen philips run, no blowout.

Lineman are the currency of high school football in my opinion. If you have a good one then you are doing well but if you are 3 weeks into the season you don't have anyone dominating then I don't think you will find someone on the bench waiting to step in and cure all things that are wrong. It sucks but that is the reality. piper, turner, schlagle and lansing are all facing the same challenges of seeing their lineman graduate.

Will you ever host bball workouts?

I have thought about renting a gym and having pickup games. There are so many AAU options to play basketball that I didn't think there would be much interest in it. I would be open to it.

If gassmann of atchison would of caught the ball right before half it would of been a different game

I agree from a momentum stand point. Losing a game when you win the turnover battle hurts. Atchison was +3 in TO's.

If you were basehors coach who would you start on o-line? They keep changing the line up every week.

Outside of Chaney I don't know the lineman by name. I am sure he is looking for a combination that can get something going. They did absolutely nothing again Mill Valley on the ground or through the air. Without watching practice I would have to defer to coaches decisions on who should play.

Does Steven Peoples always play hard like that

I don't know if SHUKC is making players raise their level of play but the young man is strong. He was man handling people and had a number of bruising pancakes. Minus the chippy play he played well.

If its the year of the running back. How would you rank the tandems in the area?

Right now I would go Bonner, Tonganxoie, Washington. Jackson is probably winning a foot race between any of them, Mason may be the most complete back and Knernshield is running extremely well. The big factor though is that Bonner's backs are putting the rock on the turf a lot.

Who is the best offensive lineman on lansings offensive line?

I am not sure. I know Krystiann is running for his life a lot.

I thought you were a little crazy picking Tongy to win the KVL at the start of the season. But they sure are playing well! If they can penetrate MV's line next week, they will run the gambit in the KVL.

That is a huge "if"! We will see. I think they have a good shot.

Who do u see as impact players this year in girls basketball!

Arika Smith and I am going to butcher her name. Cushingberry?? she showed well at the Tonganoxie sub state. Donica Womack at Washington. Young lady from Schlagle. KVL we will have to see. A ton of seniors. Garver at Basehor will be a senior leader.

Damn did Washington even throw a pass in this game? All they do is run.

Mill Valley and Tonganoxie don't throw the ball much at all either. 1. I don't think they can. 2. why would you? If you are getting 310 on the ground then there is no need to throw. The key though is what happens when they get behind.

Luke McGowan set a new cross country record today for Basehor.

McGowan was our x-country runner of the year last year. So not a surprise. Congrats to him!!

Would you ever consider doing a best plays of the week video every week for football?

Good idea. Top 10? The problem is that I don't get to watch every single game each week. I watch a ton of film but not all. If everyone rallies to the idea and submits candidates Friday or Saturday I can work to gather them. This is a good idea that we can look into. Perhaps a top 5.

I think this is Wards week to win against Turner what are your thoughts...

I disagree. I watched the game this morning and Ward may find some success against Turner on offense but I don't think they are out scoring anyone. Ward has not been able to get the ball in the hands of the play makers we discussed at the beginning of the year. Passing game is non existent and are only getting a few good runs. Sumner is the game to target.

What do you think about MV blanking Basehor without its starting QB and RB? It goes to show you, any decent athlete can rush for 100 behind that line.

I have come to realize that after checking out the stats. I am not tossing Koch completely to the side just yet. We will get all we need to know about them this week against Tongie.

If tongue and bonner still played eachother who do you think would win?

I think part of it would depend on what field they played on. Turf I think Bonner would have a slight edge and Tonganoxie on the grass. That would be a fantastic game.

Steven peoples is a big baby who plays dirty as he'll I'm so sorry on how you talk him up.... when he gets blocked

I saw all the plays and I obviously can't hear what is discussed on the field. He had a two horrible penalties. He plays with a lot of fire but will have to control that part of it.

What do you think about the mill valley tongie matchup.

Huge game and a great match up. We will see if my theory is correct about senior leadership is enough to get you through or if numbers and program size really is too much to over come. I picked Tongie before the season and I am going to roll with them as my pick. No drama there.

What think about Mr.Peoples and Bowens tonight?

Peoples was close to having one of the more impressive games I have seen as a lineman. The penalties though can not happen. Not a player this good. He is physically dominating and it is clear he is the strongest player out there but again he will have to control that. Bowens was good tonight but the story in the running game was javeon williams on this night.

Was it a fun game to broadcast? Washington made alot of mistakes but they beasted up front

I thought it was a very good game. I don't recall the corner that made that play at the end of the half knocking it away from Gassmen but that was so huge. He was beat but recovered. The running game from Washington was very dominant and will need to be the rest of the way. Going to be a fun matchup with Wyandotte. Was 52 in the middle tomorrow on both sides of the ball. Minus a couple of horrible late hits he was a man amongst boys. Housh was all heart tonight.

What players impressed you tonight

Housh had a very good night. Huntington showed a ton of heart. Mr Funk in the middle was good for them. Harris and Munsen. For Washington it was a mixed bag because the player that may have had the biggest night also made some of the silliest mistakes. Peoples was flat man handling the interior of the line on both sides of the ball. Hildebrandt (Sorry for misspell) was dominant along side Peoples. Williams was a flat monster tonight. I was also happy with Harrison running the ball. Passing game for Washington was non existent but if you can get chunks on the ground like that you are good. Pretty sure williams had close to 200 yards and 3 TD's. Player of the week candidate.
