What do you think of atchinsons defense? & is hailey doing any good?

Tonganoxie is good so it wouldn't be totally fair to throw them under the bus for getting ate up by them. Key game this week against Washington. League play now and if they are going to challenge they have to win this game.

Was Beebe Vs. Phillips as good a matchup as everyone was calling for?

I think others showed well but both of these players made plays as we are about to see in a few minutes on This TV!

How do you think Tre'Von mason plays now based on his second week performance

I like how he runs. He hits hard and will be a key in however far Bonner is going to go this year. He is now a legit first, second or third option. He compliments Jackson well.

How much talent would you say ster Owens has

He has a load of potential. The only thing I don't like right now is the stopping and weaving. He has a lot of power at such a short height. People are not getting good hits against him. So he needs to just go and not stopping himself. I think he is going to have a decent year this year. Piper doesn't give a single player enough carries to have a complete break out.

Overall thoughts on basehor piper last night?

Both teams will rely on their defenses this year. Good hard hitting and some good plays. I really like both of these teams up front. Basehor is really going to need to settle down on offense.

What do you think about the way Piper controlled the clock in the last 2 minutes of the game?

I wouldn't use the word controlled. We made a big deal about the pass on first down. There was another pass that almost got intercepted as well. If they get it they are smart but look a little foolish when it doesn't. They won so not a big deal.

I was at the Bonner game and Mason looks pretty impressive. That said, their was not much tackling by the D either.

We will find out a lot in a few weeks.

Not much. I don't know that I called out a sophomore last night.

Mason had 247 rushing yards do you think he's the real deal

I will decide in three weeks. He is doing great but turner and Lansing have been soup kitchens the first few weeks.

Do you think Washington can stop the run game of Austin Housh, Bennie Smith, and Weston Wood?

I like the matchup. We will see if housh is 100%. Smith had a nice run in the game against tongie.

Do you think basehor had a legit chance to win last night?

When you can play defense like they can yes. They had the ball in piper territory with a chance to take the lead.

Do you think basehors offensive line is making them struggle?

That would be the simple answer or you could credit pipers defense. I think they need to run to the perimeter more. That was there best runs.

Why do u think that the Piper running backs did not score last night?

Because nick Chaney, Jake Phillips, Cory mcclery and the defense didn't allow it.

How well will Washingtons offense match up with Housh and Harris at linebacker. Can they move the ball?

Yes they will move the ball. The question is if Washington limits the mistakes.

What'd you think of Piper's offense last night?

We will have to see if 7 is a real threat outside. Basehor got sucked in twice after special teams plays but out side of those two plays the passing game was non existent. Teams will load up against the run. I think piper would be served well with a screen game. Something to limit the run first attitude from defenses.

What'd you think about Jackson running all those yards, in hope for a touchdown, then having it taken back but turning around a couple plays later and doing it again with an actual touchdown?

I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet bu I heard about it. I am not shocked at all. With mason and knershield he will have a big year on fewer carries and throws.

I won't change my mind now as I have picked them to win the kvl. Yes. Especially if Mill Valley stays one dimensional. Focus on Piper first who should not be over looked.

What happened in the Bonner game? I thought it was pretty close through three, but what happened in the last 12 minutes?. I guess it was another 1000 yards of O and no D. Bailey and Abbott are a pretty exciting combo, but Jackson, Mason, and Knernshield are a tough trio to stop.

The Lansing offense can obviously make some noise but this defense at least so far is honestly bad. Bonner is playing track style football scoring 50+ in game one and now 70. We will have to see if pride sets in on the defensive side of the ball for Lansing.

Beebe and Johnson at MLB's?

You will see tomorrow but Vernon Birmingham does a spotlight on Mr Johnson at LB. He stuck out on film against Bishop Ward and played a good game tonight. Beebe is a given. Lost another fumble but outside of that he was solid. I am sure he is happy to see other players on defense step up and take the spotlight like Richards did tonight. Share the load.
