Bonner vs Piper 2011 is tops. Football game. I would have to think about basketball.
Atchison is looking really impressive what have u been impressed with and what makes that team so good?
It has been a big turn around for Atchison as they are playing like a team. They have a winning formula. pg play is vital. having a knock down shooter and then bigs that are willing to hit the glass. all those factors equals success.

I agree with you about Vernon. That game against basehor would have been a hell of a game. I just wish they could have played at state all those years instead of meeting in substate
At least we got to see the game happen. We were treated to some epic Basehor vs Ottawa games. KVL has some monster games this year.
How do you make the all defensive team?
I do not do that for basketball. We basically narrow down to a first and second All SHUKC Team girls and boys. 3 of those 10 will be our finalist for the SHUKC POY awards. Anna Deegan (Bonner Springs) was a two time winner for the girls. Benny Parker (Sumner) and Deandre King (Washington). Expanded the teams this year so it is that much more competitive. Who is the POY this year?? We will see!

If you could pick two basketball teams from the KVL and kcal from the last five years to play eachother who would they be? And maybe the outcome?
I really wish Vernon would have been healthy his senior year to play in that game against Ottawa. I don't believe he could have shut him down but he would have made an impact. Lansing vs a couple of those teams as well. How would Lansing deal with Benny Parker? Would the twins have been able to beat this year Lansing team. Hell what would be fun would be to matchup this years Basehor team against the big teams of the past few years.
You should check a Lawrence game out sometime! Went to one and they have arguably the best student section in Kansas. They are a small squad but for sure have speed and talent. #2 in state
I don't get to venture out of my area that much but will keep an eye out for them.

Yes. A very good one.
Basehor/Piper prediction for boys jv game?
I hear that the Basehor JV team is pretty good. I actually have seen the Piper JV team a few times. Darryl Stewart gets a couple of quarters in those game. This kid this can jump so be ready for him over the next few years. I will role with Basehor.
Have you been to a Lawrence high game?
I have not. I heard they beat Highland though so they must have a good squad.
Do u think the bobcats have a louder student section than anyone else in the kvl?
This year that may be true. We will see Monday.
Are you still doing the game?
Yes. I don't like the idea of waiting that many days to air the game but I really want to do this one. I have done my part to hype it up. I want to come and call this one.

piper/ basehor prediction for tomorrow nights boys game and girls
I will take Piper at home on the boys side but I am thinking the lady Bobcats may slow down Piper. They have some size that may cause Piper some trouble. Both should be good games. I hope this weather holds off.
Who would you look out for next year in the KCAL league?
We are in the heart of this year. :) We have a lot of youth back.
Sumner's Jordan Young had a great and much needed game along with Marshall's 19 points to secure a Win ... Will they be a problem for next years competition?
Expectations for them will be a lot higher. Jordan needs to settle down and play. glad to hear he had a good game.

Play of the year candidate for boys basketball
These are my opinions now. not final. Jackson, Schneider, Bennett, Muldoon, Younger, Long, Koch, Richardson will all be in the conversation. not official just off the top of the sole.
Who do you think is in the best position to be girls player of the year this year?
Womack, Smith, Patton, White, Jackson, Smith (basehor) are who I have on radar for it.
What do you think Washington basketball need to improve on and what are some thing they did right?
They were very good on the glass. its weird because the offensive boards show the effort but they are not physical enough to finish layups. you wouldn't need to get so many offensive boards if you make layups. no knock down shooter but very good going to the basket.
What you think sumner strong points are in basketball
They are a long and athletic. they work hard as well on the glass. they are however not deep and don't have a true knock down shooter.
How old were you when you started playing video games?
six. commadore 64. that is back when you got a new game book and had to write the code to play it.
Congrats to all of the letter of intent signees. Wonder how many will be playing the sport they were recruited for 1,2,3,4 years from now ? College sports at ANY level is very job like demanding. Good luck student athletes !
It is an all new grind so it is an accomplishment but not everyone will be cut out for it. I hope to share with everyone what to expect so our kids leave home prepared.

why would they move the basehor / piper game to monday? makes no sense, Basehor was already out of school tomorrow for parent teacher conferences.
I understood both teams wanted the opportunity to practice before this game. This game is big from a seeding perspective in sub state. I am not sure what parent teacher conferences has to do with it.
Barnhart could have been one of those top 5 returning qb's! You agree or no?
Koch, Abbott, Harrison, Barnhart, Miller are the only returners. So yes he would have to be. Man I hope I didn't forget anyone else. I am off my game!!
