some observations from the piper/basehor game younger and downing really show their leadership skills and are always calm under pressure. luke long needs more help on the offensive ed from his team, cj harper with 0 points in a double overtime game? that is unacceptable. can't wait for rematch

Not sure I agree on the balanced scoring. Jennings fouling out hurt as he had 21. Eskina and Williams had 17 each. 4 in double figures is balanced. Basehor was very poised. They could have easily gone away at the end of regulation.

Lansing girls basketball?

I saw them twice against Basehor and Lansing. Improved from last year. Real quick guard. Believe she is a freshman.

Do you think younger had a solid game?

Younger was quiet tonight but obviously made a big contribution in the game. he was solid. Muldoon and McNabb stuck out like sore thumbs but again Younger was steady. He is always so cool on the floor. I am big fan of his game.

Piper girls basketball game?

Haley White!! She is having a PoY type year. her numbers won't matchup with some from kcal but she is playing real well. good to see Jessica Wayne back on the court. first action this year and I thought she was the difference. happy for the piper girls as they are a step closer to a league title.

Was this the best game u ever broadcasted?

It was the best game I have seen. I don't know how loud I got on each of the clutch shot. I will not forget this one. I am glad I still did this game.

That has aired I think mill valley piper but this will be the game tonight is the game of the year. impossible for a game to surpass what these teams did tonight. I appreciate the efforts from both squads. I am damn proud to follow these teams. I have no idea if the level of play goes up with tv game looming but it was again the best high school game I have witnessed.

Who was impressive tonight?

McNabb was awesome in the second half. Muldoon is going to garner some first team attention if he keeps this up. his all around game is showing real well. Jennings was superb. kalin Williams was clutch. Luke was good but those missed free throws in ot were crucial.

I respect your decision to retire, but I think you are looking at this excitement from a wrong perspective. Buzzer beaters and overtime wins are the BEAUTY of high school basketball. If you stayed, I don't think you would regret it.

I could not ask for better games to broadcast. I am happy we will get to watch these games on tv.

Piper should never had a chance to get a 3 off at the end of regulation. Coach McBride should have his team foul a Piper player with 4 or 5 seconds left before Long could even shoot the 3 ? Basehor only had 8 team fouls at that time and would send Piper to line up shooting 1 and 1 and down 3.

Longs three was off a loose ball. there are a few things I will need to look at...tomorrow....but yes you are correct. the problem though is after a certain point you don't foul. Long took it under 5 seconds. refs were about as bad as I have ever seen. I hate that comes out in our broadcast but the young guy was completely lost.

No disrespect to either team tonight, both teams were obviously hungry for the win and we got a result that really no team can be that disappointed about. Were in for a great sub state. Props to both squads, both played their hearts out.

I haven't seen the full list just yet. Props to Aslin for getting kids signed out of his program.

Wyandotte buzzer beater, Washington in OT and now Basehor is double OT. my heart just can't take it. I am scared to pick another game. Lets not forget the Mill Valley vs Piper OT game.

Do u think basehors student section was louder than pipers?

No. no chants really on either side. Pipers student section was not a factor till OT.

So what was that about Piper having a weak student section?

Numbers were great but we just got the one wave cheer. didn't believe the entire game and no chants. good numbers but needs a little work. sorry but some high standards at piper.

Guards in the kvl over the next few years?

Mcgee twins, I think it is Jackson at turner. want to see this guy play. I hear good things. jack dale.

Who has the best high school student section in ks? Top 3? Loudest?

Washington at peek and honestly from a noise perspective there won't be a close second.

Muldoon will eat harpers lunch. And no disrespect to piper but I think basehor wins by double figures

No disrepect in thinking that. We will have to watch Basehor against the trapping defense from Piper. I don't know if that press will work. Harper should push everyone around including Muldoon. I doubt Harper matches up with Muldoon anyway. Jennings or Eskina.

Basehor vs piper game- who will be the X factors on both teams?

CJ Harper is who I will watch again. I sincerly think if he plays like a beast Piper has the edge. if he stays out of foul trouble and makes life hell for Muldoon and Sanders then we are in for a real treat. people should hate playing Harper. three ball and free throws. I know Basehor will knock theirs down.

Bonner vs Piper last year do you think Jordan Jackson scored on that last play ?

I was in the press box. looked at Bonner and Piper film along with a great picture from Stephen Montemayor and could not tell. If the snap was clean I am sure they get it but there was a slight bobble. I posted a while ago a slow motion frame by frame look at that play. It was the play of the year 2012 for SHUKC. it will not be soon forgotten.
