I agree with your article on AAU 100%. We chose to be loyal to HS team and got limited looks. Hindsight is 20/20. Athletes with similar or identical stats got numerous offers. Coach admitted to doing very little during season to reach out to colleges. If you have to choose, play AAU!

I don't believe it is an either or discussion. If you are playing basketball with hopes of playing in college you should play aau.

Ward starts out 1-2, thoughts?

No real thoughts. I do want to see them play but am not optimistic they will win many games.

That ranking means what? It is an opinion just like my ranking. Eudora struggled to put away a bonner team that got beat at home by basehor. Any poll for 4a that doesn't have basehor at the top is not doing their diligence.

Sure. I doubt the interest came just from moving to Basehor. You get recruited in aau ball not high school.

Watched Ward tonight and Cerda is a very quick score-first guard. A little loose with the ball but a heck of a slasher and rebounder. Have you seen him play and has he always been at Ward?

Transfer from Miege. I really want to see him. I have heard nothing but positives about him.

Sumner needs a good bounce back performance after the Wyandotte game. Great stage to show out on for all.

Peep Lansing's band when you come through. Though pep-band isn't their biggest strength, they went to a marching compition this year at Bonner with MV, Basehor, Turner, and Tongie (and Bonner) and beat everybody by 100 points+

Ok. I have no idea how to grade a band outside how live the crowd gets.

Who has the better band Washington or Schlagle

Hah!! To he 100% honest as always Washington was kind of shaky to me last night. I am no expert at all. Their dancers are the best. I need to listen to Schlagle.

2012 Basehor team was special were able to beat an excellent Ottawa team and Pratt team they had a very good chemistry.

Still recovering from an injury. They hope he will be back after the break. He would be a good piece for sure. Would clean up some of the back court turnovers.

Its crazy. McNeal however is not a surprise. If someone does figure out how to slow him down they will open up everyone else.

Thoughts on Lansing girls so far?

I have not seen them. Saw they lost yesterday. I will hopefully see them when we come to Lansing.

My 2 cents about BLHS girls, when &/or if u see these girls play lets revisit the topic. I partially agree with u cuz 1 or 2 freshman do deserve to come up. I have a player caught in that catch 22 but I feel pt is how u get better. Next yr 6 graduate n u r left with inexperienced varsity candidate.

I saw them against Bonner. One Bonner is a good team so not very fair but I saw a skill step down from last year. They may improve as a team but time will tell.

BLHS varsity girls suit up 14, half of which also play Jv. A few see no varsity playing time & don't play all 4 qts of Jv. The coach has freshman girls filling those Jv minutes. Why play freshman over juniors that are supposedly varsity capable? I'm confused.......Good coaching or Stupidity?

I am not sure you will like the answer I would give to this. A varsity coach has to be prepared for disaster in terms of fouls and injury. If you burn all their quarters in JV then what would you do in the varsity game especially if the refs are whistle happy. So this is me talking not coach. He is doing exactly what he should acknowledging that the talent pool may not be what it needs to be in order to win a lot of games. i only saw one game but the talent is developing. Maybe those freshman are the future and you will see them getting varsity minutes at some point this year. Here is the bottom line. If a player is good then they would show it in practice and in turn will be playing in the game.

Piper looked good last night they might be the sleeper team in the KVL

Basehor unless they implode will win the KVL. The race for second however will be quite entertaining.
