How do you think bonner will do in football

Quietly optimistic about Bonner. There are legit concerns though. If Dumler is going to only play defense then who on earth fills that glaring hole. I obviously think highly of him on the offensive line. I am confident in the coaches at Bonner and the program they are developing with emphasis in the weight room. Jonah Freese and Travis Dooley may hold the fate of Bonner football in their hands.

Ever think your going to brach out and cover other schools than just KCK?

I figure the conversations about me doing that are only going to intensify especially as we see our broadcasts on TV. I however have no intentions to expand in the near future. If SHUKC as a not for profit grows and I reach the goals I have for the KCK area then sure but I am just getting started with my plans here in the city.

Who are the best young RB's in the KVL in your opinion?

Sterling Owens is going to be an interesting player. Yes I know he is short but he is powerful. He has a trophy to prove how much work he puts in the weight room. We will have to see if he has the quickness to go with it. Need to confirm the RB at Lansing that will be in the backfield with Porter. Someone has to step as well at Mill Valley. A lot of new faces will get carries there.

There's no possible way that Tucker and Barnhart can lead a 0-27 football program to a win this year, do you really think they can? I mean those two are good but??

They are two pieces. If Brull, Noah Alexander, Butner, Henley can also make some plays. It takes five or so athletes that can make some plays. We will have to see if Brull can make something happen. I am not predicting a league title. Just a win.

Senior 7-7 starters

Berry, Jackson, McKinzy, Bailey, Steve Ford, Holloway and someone to snap the ball. I would own with this squad. I would play Berry and Jackson in the slot.

Who do you feel are the best overall athletes (all sports included) you have covered?

Some of the same names. Benny Parker, Vernon Vaughn, Ben Johnson. Parker and Vaughn didn't really play and excel at a third sport like Johnson but they were freaks. Jennifer Whiteledge should be in this conversation as well. She is a rare athlete that this area will not see come around again soon.

What do you think about Washington Football?

Washington is intriguing. I am ready to declare the hiring of Bryan Salsgiver a great success and benefit to the Wildcat program. I can really tell that his heart is in it. He has the right mind set to get them working in the weight room. Bowens, Harrison, Love, Williams is a good base of athletes to make some noise in 2013.

Do you think pipers QB Tanner Eikenbary. lions WR Khalil Bailey and LB Christian Porter will play and the kansas vs missouri all star game?

Bailey and Porter I will say quickly I doubt it. You have to be pretty active in the combine scene and this is just my guess that Bailey has focused more on AAU basketball rather football combines and camps. I don't know if Eikenbary will get the nod. Will depend on numbers. You put up some silly numbers I know I will be blowing the horn for any of these players.

What were the top 3 best games you covered last year in football?

Wyandotte vs Schlagle, Bonner vs Piper, Piper vs Chanute were the best games. There were a couple that were more fun. Sumner vs Wyandotte being one of them.

How many broadcasts u doin a week? With PrepsKC and Metro Sports and 810 varsity, u have a lot of competitors. And which is your biggest rival. Keep up tha good work!

We will have a game of the week. I don't see any of them as competitors. I have a very focused audience here in KCK. If others come into our area I welcome it with open arms because that means the kids in this area get more exposure. I want to keep taking incremental steps to get news out about KCAL and KVL. Getting our games replayed on TV is going to be a major step in that direction. I am happy with the reputation SHUKC is getting and hope to see it grow more. Thanks!

If you had to make a starting offense who would be on it?

Good question. This year or all time? I could answer this is too many different ways.

I also find Drew Potter very overrated.

Players with big bodies that have a nose for the goal line do well in high school. He is going to be a tight end and full back. If he can continue to throw said big body around he will do just fine. You can't teach speed, size and strength.

Who were the best wide receivers/tight ends (pass catchers) you have covered?

Vernon Vaughn (1), Stevie Williams (2), Ben Johnson (3), Ryan Murphy (4). This is totally off the top of my head. I put stevie so high because he was so damn fast. he didn't get enough credit for his ability to pull away.

Yah he has the potential. Potential doesn't equal ability.

57 total tackles, 14 of those for loss, 5.5 sacks. granted all the sacks are in 3 games. The other factor is game plan. I would have to watch some film but we would have to consider if teams ran away from him. I don't trash opinions so we may just disagree on this one.

Best big RB you've covered and best small rb?

I don't have a good sense of what big is. Potter was strong and will be a good short yardage guy. Kendall Short I would also call big. Isiah Ming played big. I honestly would take him first. Browning was the best small back. Jackson from bonner.

Ben Johnson showed nothing at the end position I watched him play. He's a good tightens but overrate at line

You didn't watch close enough last year. He has the frame and physical ability but we will have to see if ku can coach the technique to pull out his potential at that position. Fair opinion but a big 12 school disagrees.

Well what about the best Defensive end

Ben Johnson, demetris Abernathy at wyandotte. Isiah Ming played on the end as well. He was a monster.

Saw the question about the best DB you've covered, what about the best offensive linemen?

TJ Wallace at Schlagle. I really hope he puts in work at Highland. He has D1 potential. Lillich and Sam Worthy were good. There was a good one at Lansing last year. Can't think of his name though.

How do you think Sumner will do next year?

Bring hammer and nails because Sumner is rebuilding in football and basketball. You don't loss that much and not take a step back.

Who will win the KVL this year in football?

I may have answered this already but thinking right now it is so damn tough without knowing what the lines are going to look like. Its a coin flip right now.

Do you pay attention to KCK and KVL baseball?

Not as much as I should. I will be honest that I follow Sumner Academy pretty close because they do such a good job with uploading their stats to Max Preps. I started watching close the 4A playoff bracket. Sumner Academy is going to have a special group coming up with Richardson, Flores and Miller. I haven't gotten fully engaged with baseball coaches.

Who had the most positive influence on you?

My mother is from England. Raised 4 mixed kids on 10th and Freeman in the late 80's early 90's. I have never needed much more of a positive influence besides her.

Who do you think will make the best improvment in KVL football

Bishop Ward. They have some players that can make plays which is a key to any offense. Time will tell but they can greatly improve by not getting smashed week and week and they started doing that at the end of 2012.

Who is the best DB you've covered

I think Dimonic McKinzy is the best corner. Keaton Cofield was very dominant for most of 2012 and will be a huge loss for Piper this season. Deante Ambler sticks out as well.
